I posted a message that my husband and i were looking for a used 26'twin/king lazy daze-- i must have been tired when i posted that! We are looking for a 23 1/2' twin king.
Again, if anyone near the austin area would let us come and check out the specs of your LD- it would be greatly appreciated! We're still looking and still have our hearts set on LD!! Thanks, Kerstin

Well, maybe Kerstin doesn't need a post-1997 26.5-foot twin/king but WE DO! ;-> So if anyone knows of one for sale, we would gratefully receive that information.

We have sold our beloved Gertie to Andy Baird as of early next month, and are not looking forward to being mobilehomeless.

We want to stay in a Lazy Daze. We would consider any late model Lazy Daze as an interim rig and order a new one, but even that is difficult.

If you have a lead, please send it to us at:

Judie, I realize the following doesnt meet your exact description but..... There is a 97 23.5 front lounge advertised on the Rv search.com site. The party is Charles Lewis in Goodyear AZ phone # 623 935 2954 He says 32,000 miles, $40,000 but as I read the ad the price includes a lte model {97} Chevy S-10 toad which has got to be worth $10,ooo itself. Hope this helps.

"We are looking for a 23 1/2' twin king."

Kerstin, note that this model came in two flavors - Ford and Chevy. The coach interior and exterior are identical, but the Chevy is 22' long.

Both models were produced through the early '90's, the Ford only in later years when Chevy stopped making the chassis. Most '80's models are Chevys.

The reason I bring this up is that when we were originally looking, the extra length of the Ford would not have allowed us to park it in the driveway and get our cars into the garage. Additionally, every inch of reduced length and wheelbase helps when maneuvering in tight campgrounds and into remote areas.

The biggest disadvantage of the Chevy is that most had the small-block V8 - less power in the mountains than the Ford. This is less of an issue if you find a fuel-injected model.

MikeO, good to know we have another lonestar LD'er. We ordered a 26.5 RB on March 24. With a similar model and before we reach a point of no return on options, extra receptacles etc., could you give us the benefit of your experience on what you would have done differently in this option vs. that option or what extra receptacles you would like to have? Also, do you use a GPS? If so, could you share type, costs, evaluation ?

Thanks and maybe we'll cross paths down the road.

Regards, Bob Port Neches, Tx.

Rob - we don't have many options - it is sort of a hobby to now "tweek" our rig - I like researching stuff and installing on my own (camping world is just a few miles away) - if you don't/can't do that sort of thing then by all means get the factory to do it for you - their prices seem to be pretty fair. As for antennas - here's my thoughts - No DSS on the roof, too easy for trees to obscure transmission; No permanent GPS (yet) but that would have been a good idea but which antenna, etc; No cell phone (yet) again a good idea ... it really isn't hard to put antennas on the roof - however the aluminum skin makes magnetic mounts useless! LD's CB antenna isn't that great so I'll probably change that too. Lastly, make sure you can remove or fold down anything that goes on the roof - if you have a cover or roof or even service bays will require lower clearance. MikeO
