Windshield Boot & re to other posts

We picked up the windshield boot as a last minute decision. LD installed the clips while we were wrapping up the paper work.

I'm ambivalent about the boot so far, my only minor negative is that access to the cab through the front doors is hindered. Looking at pictures at sites such as Camping World, it looks like you can easily open the doors while the boot is in place, but that isn't the case. It isn't that major, but a couple of times I would have liked to open a cab door to get something from the cab area and I had to go through the main door as if I owned a class A. Maybe I will appreciate the boot more in 100+ degree heat, especially if our MB is facing south or west. Also, the last time we were out, it was raining hard when breaking camp, so it added about a minute in the rain to the couple of minutes it takes to stow the shore power cord and water hose. I know, so I got a little more wet.

Enjoyed the back road posts. Gus has me wanting to go back to the Ouray area. We tent camped in that area about eight years ago. The only negative was the primitive/chemical toilets at some of the places we stayed. Our LD will eliminate that problem nicely.

Looks like we will have our first dry camping experience over Memorial Day weekend. Couldn't find a water/electric site at any of our first choice Texas State parks. We now have a reservation at Colorado Bend State Park, about 75 miles NW of Austin. The resevation site says that sites are suitable for RVs in that camping loop, but there is no electricity and water is "available nearby." I'm looking forward to the new experience. I was happy to get the reservation since the park is within 20 miles of our first choice.

The valve stem/tire changing posts also interested me. I found that checking the pressure on the inside back tire is doable, but adding pressure seems to be difficult unless you have a more professional air compressor with a truck inflator extension. I had the extensions put on without changing the rubber stems and am now thinking I made a mistake.

I probably should have made this three or four posts. Feel free to change the subject line as neccessary if responding

Take care all.
