Sure, though it has been 7 months so I may be forgetting something... We have 3 kids and will spend a lot of weekends with the LD at volleyball tourneys and track meets, which drove some decisions like getting the MB model.

- automatic satellite; we do some work with sat boxes at work, so I have one at home; eventually we may get internet this way? -

400 watt inverter; needed to power the sat box.
-

2" receiver hitch; easy to add bike rack, maybe tow.
- outside shower; we like the beach and it might keep the inside cleaner.
- 6v batt knife switch; save battery when not in use, esp since no solar.
-

CD player; kids have a lot of CD's. However I'd probably change this now to just a connection for a Nomad Jukebox - small device that can store up to 100 CD's compressed.
- 2 extra seat belts; comes with only 2 in the rear, we'll have occasions with more kids along.
-

rear table; seemed to be liked by folks on this list, easily removed if not useful. May make dinner easier with 5 than at the dinette.
- extra power/phone outlet by dinette; for laptop, other electrical.

I agonized over solar or not, but figured we'd typically not stay more than a couple days in a place and was assured the generator or engine would recharge quickly... Well, ask me again in two months if I have any regrets ;-)

Lanny:

Glad to see another East Coast purchaser. We're planning a factory tour this summer. It sounds like our purchase and delivery schedule may be exactly one year behind you. We're also interested in either the 30' or the 26.5 MB. I'll be watching for further news about your delivery date - and your trip back East.

I forgot to mention that we're from near Downeast Maine.  I'm wondering if we might set a record for distance from the factory???

George;
I think you may be almost as far from LD as possible.  Wondering how you discovered the best class C in the world.

It sounds like you have made some good choices for the right reasons. As to the 100 CDs, you may want to save them as mp3s and play them right from a laptop equiped with good sterio speakers. I have downloaded about 2,200 mp3s(about 250 CD equivalent) from Napster and have them on my home desktop box. When I pick up my LD in September, I hope to have those songs transferred to the hard drive of a new laptop by ethernet connection to my home box. Right now, we play the music in our home right form the desktop box using Real Jukebox or Windows Media Player both free downloads. The music is as good if not better that the DMX music on our digital cable coming into our home. Most of my mp3s are old jazz and blues music much of which is not copyrighted. Yes Napster is still running!

My wife Cynthia and I will also be in the factory or road testing on Friday morning (3/23). If not outside, we'll be in the office signing the contract.
Yahooo.

Maybe we should wear stickers to identify club members?

I don't honestly remember how I first discovered LD - but certainly this site, and my membership in RVCG, has been a tremendous influence!

Actually the Nomad Jukebox replaces the laptop; it's the size of a personal CD player and contains a small hard drive (4GB) that contain 100 CD's worth of music when compressed as MP3s or WMA. It comes with PC software to compress and download your CD's (or just your favorite music or jazz from Napster ;-), deals with music lists, etc. Being small, lightweight, and easy on batteries, it seems like it will be a nice improvement to the music system of our soon-to-be LD :-) Just need a 12 v outlet, and a plug in to the speaker system; don't know if we can just hook this up inline with the CD changer that will come with our unit?

Lanny, If you want to weekend in the Catskills of upstate New York, we would be glad to let you park your new 30 LD in our driveway.
LD owners are welcome to boondock, or electric and freshwater could be available. We still have snow in the driveway, so we need to wait until it is gone.

That seems nice but I have much more music than 4 GB. I may have 3-4 times that much when I am done downloading. I saw an ad in a recent Best Buy flier that had an MP3 player that held, I believe, more than 4 GB that was being advertised for about $500. That seems like a lot of money for something that does only one thing, play music. A laptop with Win 2000 Pro or the new Win version (whisler) coming out about August 2001 will allow you to really multitask while you are palying your music. The laptop will cost more but will do much more. I would probably look at a Sony Vaio that has all kinds of goodies for digital cameras and other multimedia equipment you might be using. It will be fun either way for both of us!

Congratulations!!

Our invoice # is 7471. I called LD on Tuesday of this week and spoke to Tim in production. He said that our VIN letter should go out next week and that we would be #5 on the list for delivery in May. While that is nothing precise enough to arrange air travel, we are now getting that "warm and fuzzy" feeling.

Thanks for your update,

Tom

Robin: We're 7466 and did get a letter last week. Do you know if we are to receive another written notice or a phone call or both? I guess I better go re-read the letter.

We ordered a tan 26.5 MB.

Steve at LD told us to expect a phone call 2-3 weeks in advance of our actual delivery date, in order to inform us of the final delivery date. That means we should be hearing from LD in early April.

Pat: I'd be glad/grateful to pick up your new rig if you like for you! You must be bitting your nails about now. I drove my used LD yesterday after sitting all winter and she drove like a rolls...I took her to fill her up as the fuel costs are rising faster than the sun here in Michigan! Warning: You are going to fall deeply in love with your LD! Smile. Mari Susan

Mari Susan: Thanks for the offer but picking up the LD is part of a larger plan in which I also pick up my daughter, her husband and their son, who live in the L.A area, and do a shakedown for a few days out West and then bring daughter and grandson back to Michigan to visit her Mom who can't make the trip due to her chemo schedule. Then we'll put daughter and grandson on a plane for the return trip.

You're right, I am looking forward to getting out there an the very near future.

Do you keep your LD out west or in Michigan?

Regards.

Bob,

I was indeed a pleasure for Laureta and me to meet you and Rosemary last Saturday, March 24, at the Lazy Daze factory. Talking about our favorite subject; namely, LD machines, is "an affliction" as you two found out. We sincerely hope our comments did help you in your selection process.

We would like to keep in contact with you folks and learn the details about your pending LD motorhome. Should you wish to follow-up with us on our various offers, please fax me your e-mail address to (805) 578-1080 and I will log your address into our computer system and also e-mail you a reply. The above number is strictly an unlisted fax line that I use for business matters.

Best regards, Joe G. (BTY Djaugh is pronounced Joe)

Joe/Lauretta, I am just catching up on some email and my favorite web forum. It was nice visiting with you and your lovely wife Saturday at Mecca(that's the Lazy Daze factory guys). I will certainly take you up on the offer and fax you our contact info. I will also share our order, experience and observations with the rest of the folks as soon as I get through about 20 more posts. It's my turn returning the favor to anyone who I can help. I can't say thankyou enough to people like Gus, Oscar/Shirley, the folks in Houston who were gracious to show us their LDs, and many others on this board.
Joe, thankyou and Lauretta again for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with Rosemary and I. Would be great traveling with you all in our LDs sometime. I almost forgot- we ordered a 26.5' RB!

Take care, Bob & Rosemary Port Neches, Texas
