Remodeling plans already? hmmm......
Yahoo Message Number: 24677
Hi gang, I got my survey letter from LD about a week ago, and have been giving some thought to their request for suggestions for improvements. (I bet they'll be sorry they asked!) We just returned from our first pleasure trip in the LD (a 2003 Mid-bath for reference) and I think my first project (I don't plan on renovating the hole thing like Larry) will be a slight remodeling of the bathroom. Has anyone removed the large mirror that runs behind the vanity (the less I see of myself in "those situations" the better!) and replaced it a smaller mirror and a regular medicine cabinet? That might also provide a space for a toothbrush/cup holder and another towel bar above the vanity towards the wall. I bought one of those "Cover-up" toothbrush holders from CW before we got the LD, and found there was no place to mount it. Any ideas for convenient and quick access to small items like medication that don't involve removing a container from the overhead cabinet and rumaging through bins looking for an aspirin? You creative souls must have some solutions that don't involve ripping out the mirror, don't you? Hey Larry, you comin' to Ohio next month? Steve K (still hoping for the duel of the polishers)

Although Ed might not listen, you could mention the extra firm mattress and cushions, with a suggestion that the firmness be toned down a bit.

I'd suggest that the 23.5 foot models be extended to 24 feet, with the extra six inches used to expand the space in the bathroom, and to let the driver's seat move back farther. The LD designers must all be skinny little guys!

Well....I extensively use "suction cup" accessories in my home bathroom, they work awesome.  Suction cup toothbrush holders, soap holders, suction cup hooks for towels (the heavy duty ones where the hook snaps down to lock in the suction).  There's even some cool stainless steel suction cup stuff I've seen...but it's heavy.  I have a large suction cup container in my shower that holds 4 bottles of "stuff"...so you can find them all different sizes for different applications.

You're lucky! Unfortunately, in older rigs like Gertie ('85) the shower walls are painted--not plastic of gelcoat--and suction cups just don't hold. I ended up sticking my suction-cup soap holder to the side of the sink, which is fiberglass/gelcoat, and it stays there nicely. But on the walls...? No dice. Five or ten minutes and CLUNK!

True...however the person asking the question has a large mirror; they were thinking of removing the large mirror to add a smaller mirror and make room for accessories...however the suction cup accessories will work beautifully on mirrors--so he can keep the nice big mirror (I should have mentioned that).  I'm a little nervous about using those heavy stainless steel suction cup accessories....a "clunk" and it could mean a "chunk" out of something!

Steve,

I happen to really like the large mirror in the MB bathroom.  Like Sue, I have also solved part of the storage issue with suction cup attachments and adhesive attachements.  I have two large suction cup holders to hold soap, toothpaste and shampoo.  One is in the shower and one is attached to the mirror.  I also bought a suction cup toothbrush holder which holds my toothbrush and razor.  These were purchased at Camping World.
I also bought a dixie cup holder at Walmart which is attached to the mirror with double sided adhesive tape.
The only problem with the suction cups is that they can and did fall off once when it got very hot inside the coach.
