30 IB Model Questions July 06, 2003, 08:35:19 pm Yahoo Message Number: 24216My wife and I want to full time in the future - 5 to 10 years from now. We plan to continue to own a motorhome in the interim for short vacation trips. Over the past year, the kind members of this site have shown us a older 22 foot, a 26.5 RB, and a 2003 26.5 MB.We have a great desire to view a 30 foot LD on the E450 wide body chassis. We are not in a situation to travel to the mother-ship at present. If you are fulltiming in a 30' IB, we would be happy to hear from you. Did you consider a larger class A? What factors led you to the LD instead? My wifes concern is the lesser space of the LD (compared to coach we own now or a newer Class A), and mine is the CCC/GVWR of the LD 30'. I know the advantages of the LD build quality, plus I know I can personally maintain a gas LD much easier than the diesel Class A with air brakes and air bag suspension. We currently own a 35 foot 1983 Bluebird Wanderlodge with a front Cat 3208 225 Horse power/860 ft lbs torque diesel, and a 4 speed Allison auto transmission. It has twin couches in front, a dinette mid ship, mid bath, and double bed in the rear, tons of storage space and good ccc. Our GVWR is 34,400 lbs, and we are underpowered for the weight. She is a great 20 year old RV (restored), but we plan to upgrade to a newer coach, whether a Lazy Daze, or a new newer Class A coach.Should you happen to pass through Albuquerque NM (junction of I 25 and I 40), and be willing to show your 30 IB it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for any dialog on fulltiming in a LD 30', or willingness to show your 30' LD should you be traveling through Albuquerque.Dan

30 IB Model Questions Reply #4 – July 08, 2003, 07:39:12 pm Yahoo Message Number: 24300Dan,I can't answer any of your questions, but I just wanted to say that if I ever want to get a class A, it will be a Bluebird Wanderlodge. They seem to put the same type of quality and care into there products as LD and they have a steel body. Obviously you are a man of good taste. :-) You may miss the ccc and big storage compartments, but otherwise I think you would like it.-Victor
