We will be taking our LD back to the mothership in August (yes, August) to have some work done.  This is not going to be a pleasure trip, we need to get straight down and staight back.  I know a number of you have made the Seattle to LA trip, and I was looking for some advice.  We plan to take I-5.  Where would you advise overnighting, and would we need reservations?

Thanks,

Laurie

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the plant used to close for a month every year and I seem to remember it being August.

Anne, you are correct, but it is the week after we will be there.  In addition to having our rig worked on we intend to look through the models and dream...

Laurie, if you're just going to be driving straight down and back with no time for relaxing - fun, etc., consider Wal*Marts, Flying J's, Casinos, Camping World's, etc. for just sleeping. No reservations necessary! ~^_^~
I always go in and talk to a manager/supervisor except at truck stops.
There, I just park as far away from the main areas as possible so I don't interfere with the truckers. Also I don't park at truck stops if they're pretty full, because they're working and need the space more than I do.
