Dometic Refrigerator Mis-Fires

Another problem that can cause Lazy Daze Dometic refrigerators to fail light/relight is a dirty burner.

Just above the shutter where the gas enters the burner is a vertical tube. It is probably rusty-looking. If you remove it, you may find that its inside is flaking with rust. This stuff falls down and blocks air and gas flow into the burner. It can also clog the little brass metering jet that feeds tha propane gas into the flame.

If you clean out the rust in the burner tube and remove and clean the jet, you may recover normal gas refrigerator operation. The LD manual recommends cleaning this assembly fairly regularly. In our rig, it seemed that the rust flakes would accumulate from just sitting around and then jar loose. We learned to check the burner.

I've heard about stainless steel replacement burner tubes, but have not checked further.
