Refrigerator Problem January 29, 2001, 08:02:23 pm Yahoo Message Number: 1796A common problem with refrigerators that will not stay lit or will not light is a generator that is worn out. This is a probe looking thing that sits in the gas flame( when the flame is burning) This generates a small electrical current that opens the gas valve and also signals when the flame goes out, turning the gas off. It is fairly simple to replace . Most RV stores will have a universal replacement that is inexpensive, usually less than $15. You might also fing one at a heating supply store. It is possiable to test it if you have a voltmeter that reads millivolts. You might consider buying a RV repair manual for more information on this. The heater problem is usually like mentioned before, air in the line. When my LD has sat for a time or after filling the propane tank, I will light the stove to help purge the air and then the heater. Do this at home before you leave on a trip where you might want to use the heater( light the water heater too) Larry
