Hi,

I just received my video from LD and really saw that some models have a window in the shower.
Does anyone have any comments on this. How hard is it to keep clean, does the curtain attack you when you are showering? :-) Just curious!!

Thanks,

Yvonne

Yvonne,

I have a 22' Front Lounge with a full bath across the back, sliding window in the shower. It works just fine for me, I don't do battle with it at all (I'm 6'1", 180lbs). It's nice to have open for ventilation as it's the only other source of fresh air in the bath besides the roof vent.

One of these day's I plan on replacing the bathroom vent fan (it's one of those puny ones) with a Fan-Tastic fan, as long as it's a 1-1 replacement size wise which I'm told it is, but, I want to verify that first.

As for cleaning, I started using "Clean Shower" by Arm & Hammer this past summer. Directions are to spray on after each shower and just leave to dry, although sometimes I help it along a little by wiping it down. So far, I'm happy with the product, seems to do the job!!

Yvonne, we have the same model as Wayne, but an '83, and both the shower door and window have curtains. Have not been attacked by either, or had any problems with the window, which doesn't seem to get dirty as fast as the other opening ones. Note that our showers are 'navy' - water on to get wet and while rinsing, but off (trickle) while soaping up. Also, the water doesn't have the force a home shower can run at, so that may be a difference too.

Wayne - he, he - I've done the fan mod. I hooked up power to an adjacent ceiling light fixture over the sink, since the power wires to the native fan were pretty puny. This will work for you if your light in that position is similar, and has a built-in switch. I also have a cheap Maxxair vent cover over that, modified by removing its screen and mounting it a bit off the roof - for decreased resistance to airflow. We leave the vent open almost all the time, giving great ventilation while travelling, or camped in the rain.

The Fantastic Fan model I chose was the one with a thermostat, but manual control of the cover and no rain sensor, since that's the most useful model with our set-up. Installation was a breeze. Removing the old vent was a bear. I pretty much trashed the old vent getting it off.

I'll check out the spray cleaner - might ease my chores!

Thanks Wayne & Steve. I have been attacked before and got worried. :-) I feel a lot better now. Thanks again.. I plan on going down to LD in the beginning of March to feel and touch. I am going with a friend and we would sure appreicate any information about hotels and any good places to eat in the area of LD.
Even tho I was born and raised in Northern and Central California it has been many years since I have been in southern California. We are coming from the backwoods of northeastern Washington State, only about 30 miles from the Canadian boarder, so we could use any information we could get.

Thanks again,

Yvonne
