Roof Sealant and End Cap caulking March 26, 2025, 08:35:24 pm Hi. I just bought a 2005 Lazy Daze 26.5 mid bath and it needs new sealant around the air conditioner on the roof and new sealant along the corner molding seams in a few places. The Lazy Daze Owners Manual says to use ”special sealant” on the roof and “factory sealant” along the seams. Could someone please tell me what these sealants are? Of course, I want to use the correct stuff so the sealant will adhere to the materials and last many years. Thanks so much.

There are 3 or 4 screws under the interior plastic cover that can loosen, sometimes causing leaks. They can be snugged up, do not crank down these screws! If this does not fix the leak, the gasket will need to be cut, the A/C lifted off, and the gasket replaced.Search for roof, end cap, and window frame resealing, there is a lot to read and learn.Have fun!Larry 3 Likes
Re: Roof Sealant and End Cap caulking Reply #2 – March 27, 2025, 04:38:19 pm Thank you, Larry. I do not have any leaks and it appears that no leaks have ever been present. The roof looks great except for around the air conditioning unit, which is showing signs of cracks. Maybe somebody put sealant around it even though it was not necessary? A new air conditioning unit was installed in 2018. And the roof is resealed in 2021. The sealant around the air conditioning unit is different than on the rest of the roof, so I don’t think they resealed around the air conditioning unit in 2021. I called the place that resealed the roof in 2021 and they said they used CSL liquid leveler. So far it is holding up nicely.
