Starlink - More Questions February 08, 2025, 06:57:12 pm I am very happy with the Starlink Mini. However, I have some questions:1. Someone suggested that I run the cord, which is thinner than the one on the Starlink Standard, through the passenger door where there is rubber weather stripping. I don’t like the idea of having a window open for the cord. Is that a good option? Would it damage the cord or affect the Starlink’s performance?2. With the Lazy Daze’s curved ladder is there anyway of using a pole on the ladder for the Starlink Mini?3. I’ve heard that some people keep their Starlink inside their RVs and that they work. I tried that but it didn’t work. Has anyone placed the Starlink indoors and it worked? If so, where did you place it?Thank you in advance for any feedback.Monica
Re: Starlink - More Questions Reply #1 – February 08, 2025, 08:47:25 pm Running a cord through the door isn't my preference. Yes, I've tried it in the past with an outside cell antenna, whose cord is even thinner than the Starlink Mini's, but it's hard to keep it in position. And every time you close the door, you kink the cord again, risking eventual damage.A recent post in the "Surviving Milton and Starlink" thread suggested running the Starlink Mini's cable out the window and then using a foam pool noodle to seal against weather. That's the quickest, easiest way. If you slit one side of the noodle lengthwise, it should stay in place even with the window open. Another method is one I recently suggested: run the cable out through a hole in the outside shower compartment. That's more work, but more convenient in the long run. 1 Likes

Re: Starlink - More Questions Reply #5 – February 10, 2025, 08:27:02 pm Hi Monica, I saw a suggestion on one of the Lazy Days Facebook pages about mounting a mini starlink in the shower. We tried it out. We placed the starlink mini inside of our indoor shower skylight. It has been working great for us. It is removable so if we are parked under trees we can position it outside in an open area. It has to be right up in the skylight to work. For outside use, we plug it into the outlet that is inside the refrigerator access door. We use a short extension cord in there because the power block on the starlink doesn't fit in with the fridge plug. No cord needs to run through a window. I hope this helps. 3 Likes
