On a 1999 I did, about a year and a half ago I did front and rear.
I found my newly bought small cordless reciprocating saw came to the rescue cutting the top bolt.

Recommend a search.  Koni and Bilstein are common replacement brands, and will make good search terms. 

For example: Advice on Shocks


On a 1997, you're probably due for sway bar bushings and a steering stabilizer unless they have been previously replaced.

Thanks ....RV shop wants 200 bucks an hour ?!?..... I think he also gives legal advice.....for that fee...yikes..

Real talk - owning an old RV (ok, any RV) is expensive.  Most people DIY as much as they can and it still costs a lot.   $150-200 isn't a crazy shop rate these days depending on the market.   If you're not comfortable DIYing things, you will soon be spending more than is reasonable given the value of the vehicle.

One trick RVers sometimes use is to get service done while traveling in places with lower rates.  It can reduce the sting, but it still costs $$$

The driver side top shock nut is difficult to get to.
A multi-head wrench makes the job much easier.
