For example: Advice on ShocksOn a 1997, you're probably due for sway bar bushings and a steering stabilizer unless they have been previously replaced.Rich

Most people DIY as much as they can and it still costs a lot. $150-200 isn't a crazy shop rate these days depending on the market. If you're not comfortable DIYing things, you will soon be spending more than is reasonable given the value of the vehicle.One trick RVers sometimes use is to get service done while traveling in places with lower rates. It can reduce the sting, but it still costs $$$Rich
