LD vs Travel Trailer
My wife and I looked at some TTs today.  We desire room for our 11& 9 year old grandkids to camp with us so a bunk house is in order. Here is what we found.  You are so lucky to have a LD.
Travel Trailer
- Very low quality construction.  Thin particle board.  Azdel in walls be could not hold an electrical outlet mounted in it.
- Swintek slide was crooked as the seals were twisted and offset on both sides of the slide.  One sides seal would let in water.
- Hit my head on a/c unit. Bath sink blocked by toilet! RV queen bed so short my feet hung over end. It was hard as a rock too!
- Tires from China.  The ones that blow easily (on a 2023 unit).
- Never heard of the refrigerator manufacturer.  But it was 12V!
- Dinette rubbed top of my legs when I sat down (i am 6’2” tall).  Plus 2 posts in way.
- Murphy bed a joke.  Mattress folds right at chest level.  Agh

LD beats it in every aspect.  I know you know that already.

So we are just keep using our popup.  Will buy a portable toilet, mini refrigerator, 12 gauge extension cord. We will keep a Keurig in it too and a portable heater.  We bought a mattress topper.  So it will be so cozy!!  I love that it is so easy to tow.  And maintenance: check tire pressure, bearings, clean the bed rails and clean it after trips.  That is it!! It also fits in my garage!!  I may try to bypass the 12 volt transformer because it is too noisy.  If I cannot I will not use power cord and just buy second extension cord and a couple of Harbor Freight led lights to hang.  The transformer just powers the 2 ceiling lights.  Easy pee zee.

Count your blessing LD owners and enjoy each day!!  If one comes along for us great!  Otherwise we will love our popup!

Have a Great Day!

Suggest you look at InTech and BigFoot travel trailers.

I'm not saying they are LD quality, but we recently went through a decision to keep the Class C or switch to a Truck/Trailer combo (decided to keep the Class C), and those 2 brands stood out above the rest.

I think they are cost competitive (including the truck) with what a new LD would cost these days, but the used market is thin.

I would also suggest looking into Outdoors RV (ORV) manufactured in Oregon. ORV creates well-built trailers.

I sold a 2020 Outdoors RV in March to buy my 2011 LD. We are very happy.

From the experience of dealing with driving from Bakersfield up over the grapevine into LA  with winds of 30mpg gusting to 50, I'm a believer in LD.   A truck with a travel trailer would of never made it.

I know I know I shouldn't have been on the road either but Baxter the LD truly was steady as a rock.
