Defrost fridge & freezer April 01, 2024, 05:29:40 pm Quick question… I see where the water collects in a drain pan below the fins in the refrigerator and then drains out. Where is it suppose to go?There is a trickle running out of the vented compartment behind the refrigerator on the outside of the coach. Is this correct? Seems like it should have a drain line routed out below the coach.I would appreciate affirmation that this is normal or instruction on how to troubleshoot if this is not normal.Thank you!

The tube then goes down and through the floor. Peek under your rig and look to see where it exits. The tube can get clogged over time and should be cleaned periodically. You may find that it has a small plastic 'filter' in the end of the tube. It may be plugged causing condensate to back-upstream. 1 Likes
Re: Defrost fridge & freezer Reply #2 – April 01, 2024, 06:18:41 pm Thank you, Steve. I do see the drain line that you mentioned (thank you) and the little strainer on the end looks clear. This LD is still like new, a 2021 and we store it in a garage so everything stays pretty clean and clear of debris so I am at a loss as to why the water won’t drain.I’m wondering if the tube is kinked somewhere. Good news is the freezer and fridge are defrosted. 😊We will keep looking for the culprit.I appreciate your help so far. 1 Likes
Re: Defrost fridge & freezer Reply #3 – April 01, 2024, 06:51:31 pm Pour a cup or two of clean water into the tray and see if it drains out from under your LD. If it does, the problem is solved. If not, it's time to dig deeper and see if the tube is kinked or plugged.Larry 1 Likes
Re: Defrost fridge & freezer Reply #4 – April 01, 2024, 07:20:32 pm Winner winner!….Thanks Larry. Such an easy test and I’m not sure what I was thinking not to try that. 🤷🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️I poured some water in the pan and could hear it hitting the concrete under the coach. Drain line is working as it should. My guess is that small amount of water in the vented space must be condensation. I’m in South Louisiana and it is warm today.Thank you for the troubleshooting tip!

Living in a warm, moist climate requires being diligent in checking for leaks and moisture build-up, the wood frame is durable as long as it stays dry.Larry 2 Likes
