Rear Lounge window March 28, 2024, 02:39:39 am We are looking for glass, laminated single pane for our 98~MB lounge window. This glass is not available so it must come from a LD that is in a junk yard or being parted out. We can use any glass from similar year LD as long as it is larger then one side of our lounge window. So a mid-window would work and could be cut. Does anybody know if a LD being parted out or on a junk yard? We are in SoCal area for the next few days of something was available? I believe you have met Craig Parsons who ended up having to replace his rear 3 piece window with a single dual pane window for his '97 TK. Hard way to fix a Rear Window Leak The vendor he used was in his and your 'neck of the woods' in the North West. I thought that the price was reasonable, although I think he did his own installation. I liked the one piece solution to hos back 3 piece window. RonB

Our driverside rear lounge window front piece of glass of that opening window cracked a few years ago when we were camping in below zero weather. It started as a small crack and since has spread out like a spider web. That piece of glass is laminated so it's intact and feels strong but looks cracked. Back when it happened I talked with the Mothership they sent me to the glass maker. We were going to wait till we were down here in Southern California to do it, then covid hit. Now that glass is not available new and we'll have to be removed from a vehicle. Additionally the thickness of the glass is different than what they're making today so it won't fit in the frame thickness wise very well. We could replace the whole window unit, but I thought there might be a chance to find a piece of the glass in a vehicle that's having a window removed or wrecked? Karen~Liam 98 ~ MB NinA

There were so few LDs built, in comparison to most other brands, I have never seen any show up in online RV salvage yards. As Craig did, buying new may be the only solution if you want a near-matching window tint.If you use FB, you might check the LD forum run by Christine, there are old LDs on the site that may be scraped soon.Window repairs are a pain, our LD has three fogged windows that need fixing, and I am not sure if I want to spend the money for replacements. No one near us takes them apart for cleaning, Quartzsite used to have a vendor that did them on site but I didn't see them this year, sigh.Larry
Re: Rear Lounge window Reply #4 – March 29, 2024, 09:07:42 am We have a 2001 midbath that had the stationary window at the dinette cracked. We had Joe Colvin of Auto Glass Boss fix it. He came to our residence in El Cajon with his truck. He removed broken window pane and cut a replacement pane in his truck which was installed within less than an hour. Glass matches same tint as the broken glass and looks like original window. He does a lot of rv’s and serves Arizona, Calif and other states. His office is in Arizona. His contact numbers are 480-962-3886 and 602-505-3803. His work was excellent and repair cost very reasonable.Dale 8 Likes
