Stay-in-Play DUO Question March 04, 2024, 01:23:02 pm I have the Stay-in Play DUO braking system that was installed by a local RV business a couple years ago. I noticed that at least one of the three self-drilling sheet metal screws that secure the plate that holds the cable were loosening. When I try to tighten them, they just spin. My fear is that the plate will let loose while towing. The screws used appear to be 1/4” so I was thinking if I went to a 5/16” screw that would fix it but I haven’t been successful finding that size at our local big box stores. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Re: Stay-in-Play DUO Question Reply #1 – March 04, 2024, 09:42:54 pm Hi Greg, I hate those self drilling screws. Can you get to the other ends? If so, a stainless bolt with a nyloc nut. That is a more safe install. Brakes need extra caution to be fail safe. RonB 2 Likes

I’ll have to crawl under the Forester to see if it’s possible. At least we have the option to drive separately to Morro Bay instead of towing since we’re only 45 minutes away now. 👍 1 Likes
