Max Air Vent covers
So one day a few weeks ago a bird or something hit our over Maxxair Maxx II cover.   It was installed in 2016.   Very easy to install - love em.   Was able to drive vents open.  And able to camp in wind and rain - happens now and again in the Pacific Northwest.  I re-ordered the new Maxxair Maxx II cover from Amazon.   Proceeded to install...... vent cover is smaller by a few inches in all directions.   BTW it was a bit hot on the RV roof -- climbed off of the roof ---the vent would not open - climbed back up and uninstalled the vent cover.   Returned said  Maxxir Maxx II cover via Amazon.    OK I said to myself go in person with the original mounting bracket to Camper World.   Original mounting brackets are around 2 to 3 inches longer than the replacement brackets.   Had a very long conversation with the salesperson.  They only had to smaller version of the Maxxair Max II cover.  I left the store without buying any covers.  After I got home I did another Amazon search.   Found what I thought was a larger Maxxair Maxx II vent cover.  Waited three to four days for ground delivery from Indiana.   Sadly had the same dance on the attempt to install the vent cover.    OK OK this time I called Maxxair directly to see what the issues were.   To make a long story a tad shorter -- seems like three years ago Maxxair re-designed the vent cover making it smaller and easier to install.   The problem is they, Maxxair, is still using the same name and part number.

Maxair is sending me free three Maxair Fanmates to cover my time and effort.    I have no idea if the replacements will work but at least Maxair is trying to do the right thing.

Update .... would ya believe the  MaxxAir Fanmate is  a better fit than the old vent cover.      I can open the LD vent cover more.   The old MaxxAir Max IIwould only let me open the vent cover a few inches, the new one would let me open it just about full open.   The Maxair Fanmaters are taller.  I've only put one on becasue they don't come with a bug filter.  I'll have to custom-make one.

Very interesting 🧐.  Our older ones don’t have the quick release pins and we can’t open the vents as you described.  Margee is napping so maybe 🤔… so maybe I’ll order one as an experiment?  I’ll say it’s her birthday present 💝!
