Unladen Weight 1986 22 foot? July 30, 2023, 12:56:07 pm Hello, I am trying to register my 1986 MH 22, I need the unladed weight. I don't have access to it to take a picture of the Weight Tag/Sticker. Does anyone have any specifications or manuals that state the unladen weight of a 1986 ? Thanks.

Unladen weight; well you could empty everything out and take it somewhere to have it weighed. The GVWR that Larry mentioned is the maximum it can weigh. That data is already known to your state DMV. At a 10,500 max weight, my guess is about 7,800 pounds unloaded. Whether or not you have a generator, how full your fresh and waste water tanks are. How full the gas and propane tanks are all add up to a bit of weight, before you start loading up camping supplies like food, clothing, etc. RonB

Then decide how much you can carry. We were easily able to overload our 1983 22' LD when carrying the sea kayaks.LD side view | lw5315us | FlickrLarry
Re: Unladen Weight 1986 22 foot? Reply #4 – July 31, 2023, 12:12:58 pm Wow Awesome Group! Thanks so much that is a lot of good info. On Weight is there a tag somewhere on the RV that shows the unladen weight? The RV is in Baja so I can't look at it myself for a few months, but I might be able to have someone take a picture.I don't see anything from the CA DMV on any past paperwork, but there was mention that the DMV has the information, is it just a matter going down to the DMV and giving them the Vin and they can tell me? Thanks, Steve

Reply #5 – July 31, 2023, 12:55:01 pm Hi Steve S; In my rig, and I think in most Lazy Daze, but I don't know when they started this; There could be a statement glued to the inside of a closet door. A laminated printed sheet about 5" x7", It has the GVWR, and water tank capacity and what that weighs, how many passengers and what they weigh (calculated at 154 pounds, each person). It also has the cargo carrying capacity. Deducting that from the GVWR might be what the DMV considers the unladen weight. I haven't looked at my sheet in so long I can't remember what else is on there. I'm registered in California, and I'm puzzled why they even want to know what the UVW is. Sounds like a 'new hire' that really doesn't understand how this works. UVW is something a commercial vehicle would need. A motorhome is considered a 'HouseCar', and as such doesn't really have 'Cargo'. Most of us with E350's and lighter weight, travel fully loaded. The generator that used to be optional, and the roof air, two batteries instead of the just one deep cycle battery your 1986 likely has, all push up the weight. RonB 1 Likes
