Oil Dip Stick Frozen
This will not happen to you since you check your oil.

I rarely check the engine oil level. It has never used oil, so I got out of the habit. Besides Ford provided a oil pressure gauge that would indicate severe oil loss. I also run with scissors.

The last time I changed my oil, just for grins, I tried to verify that I had put in six quarts. The dip stick was frozen in place. Turns out that is common on many vehicles.  Lots of fixes on YouTube. I chose the simple one.

Squirt penetrating oil into the tube and let it sit for a few minutes. I was then able to twist the stick 1/8 turn in both directions. That opened up the holder a tad from the tube and I squirted more penetrating oil, then applied a heat gun to it. It popped right out.

Probably a good idea to wipe any crude that accumulates on the rubber seal of the dip stick every 30,000 miles.
