Water pooling on the engine block
We've owned our 2011 midbath since 2017. She lives on a driveway, uncovered.

For the first time, recent rains (in Socal) have resulted in a pool of water on the engine block.  See photos.  We check the area regularly for signs of rats. On the plus side, the water may be an effective deterrent.

Any idea what path the water may be taking to get there? I'm guessing that the water starts on the windshield or hood.

I have often found water in the engine’s valley, in our and other LDs. It isn’t uncommon and shouldn’t cause problems.
It’s usually the result of rain or washing, most likely water draining off the hood.
