Since we’re all friends… July 15, 2022, 03:52:04 pm My camping partner of 43 years and I are wondering what other brand of toilet paper besides the normal stuff we’ve been buying (the Camco type 2 ply dissolves before you very eyes)? Thanks,“Sore friends”😂

Re: Since we’re all friends… Reply #2 – July 15, 2022, 04:46:10 pm We put nothing Into the toilet tank other than our business. We follow the suggestion made here years ago that disposing of tissue/wipes into a sanitary waste receptacle reduces risk of black tank problems. And, after three years of steady use, (including regular flushing), our original black tank level sensor still gives accurate readings. YMMV of course…W 6 Likes

Re: Since we’re all friends… Reply #4 – July 15, 2022, 06:46:09 pm We've had good luck with the soft version Thetford 2ply Campa Rv & Marine Toilet Paper . It doesn't seem to dissolve too quickly YMMV The 'TK black tank is remarkably simple and easy to clean (small too!). So Warrens MB has a more convoluted system, easier to plug up, with a shallow slope drain section near the tank entry point. RonB 1 Likes

Re: Since we’re all friends… Reply #6 – July 15, 2022, 09:52:45 pm We've only used Scott 1000 sheet rolls for home and RV for decades. I grew up on it over 50 years ago, so maybe I'm "conditioned" to not needing 2-ply fluffies

Re: Since we’re all friends… Reply #8 – July 15, 2022, 11:18:10 pm I did a semi-scientific test of various brands of TP. Best dissolving while still usable were Scott Comfort Plus and Angelsoft.

Re: Since we’re all friends… Reply #10 – July 16, 2022, 09:50:27 am For the most part, weâve been using the Camco RV TP that you see at Walmart. I recently found this 2-ply on Amazon but have not used it yet so canât vouch for it. Kinda pricey.Amazon.com: Boat and RV Toilet Paper Septic Safe Tissue Toilet Quick... We let it sit for 3-4 weeks during a hot time of year then flush it out. Seems to do a great job of cleaning the tanks/sensors. We just did our annual maintenance as it was pretty warm here (SoCal). After flushing the tanks until the runoff is clear, the tanks are filled, and each tank receives a packet of the enzymes (available at any big box hardware store). When drained, an amazing amount of stuff comes out of what was supposedly cleaned tanks. The tanks build coatings on the inside walls that are sticky and do not come out when dumped, the enzymes break down the coatings and allow them to be removed. Our original tank sensors still work fine.Larry 1 Likes
Re: Since we’re all friends… Reply #14 – July 16, 2022, 12:24:55 pm I can attest to the effectiveness of “Larry’s Soak”. I was amazed at the gelatinous mess that flowed from our gray tank doing this procedure. Got the sensor working correctly again.
