As far as the start of this thread, the connections of the shore power cord, and the plug prongs at the end of the cord need to be inspected every time you use them. They need to be straight and clean. Any burned spots, or melted spots, especially if the prongs are loose inside the molded part can cause too much heat with very heavy current drain, such as air conditioner use. A connection at the pedestal with a malfunction shouldn't spread, but plugged into an extension cord, that connection in this case was under the motorhome and surrounded by combustible weeds.
