Hey Greg too bad it isn’t a mid bath. I might have been interested if it was.

I look at new offerings especially blue Midbaths for sale.  This one caught my eye. RV Trader says I'm the first.  This RV has the same replacement medicine cabinet that I put in. It also doesn't have the accordion door but has an added pantry between the bath and back.  Almost pristine and in very good condition. I can certainly say it has been stored inside, but some fading on the compartment door behind the driver. The price does mention OBO (or best offer). It is local to me. (well just a hundred miles or so).  https://www.rvtrader.com/listing/2007-Lazy-Daze-26.5-MID-BATH-5023600117    RonB

Ad says it has Corian counter tops … probably not.   And the generator only has 15 hours of use.  Clearly the owner hasn’t visited this neighborhood to understand the importance of regularly exercising the generator.  Otherwise I agree with Mr. RonB.

Ron, I just looked at the ad in the link; said I was the “first” to see it.  ;)

The ad has some red flags, e.g., Corian counter tops, a 90 gallon “water” capacity, etc.; could be a second owner who didn’t know the rig well or a flipper?

Well, I noticed the 90 gallons erroneous comment. The proper amounts are posted on a LD sticker inside the closet door.  Should be about 55 gallons (which includes 6 gallons in the water heater.) Many people don't know what Corian really is. It is extremely heavy, a cultured marble/resin mixture. Also listed as 26 feet long, but  RV Trader may not allow 1/2 foot increments. It does say 26.5' model. The next year 2008 Ford extended the hood, moving the engine forward 6" to make the models 27 feet long.   I'll also say that 15 hours of run time for a generator may cause problems, but certainly not as bad as neglected maintenance in the plus thousands of hours situation. I only have 126 hours in 22 years on my genset. almost all for maintenance.   RonB
Joan;  Maybe it says that to everybody, that they are the first to see the ad!
edit: now it says 35 have seen it.  The front 'faux' windows are painted white. I thinks they were still black in 2007 from LD. Obviously towed something with a ball. Most cars 4 wheels down use a tow bar. A boat maybe?  Tow dolly?  Denmark flag?  and something mounted on the tire cover.  I would suspect it was detailed. Pretty shiny!, especially the tire black on the tires.  Looking up the Caravan member number now.

There is a flipper working the San Diego area IMO (talked to them a few months ago about a different RV). But it might be someone inherited it (or had it only a short time) and didn’t really know the RV - when you talk to a flipper you get:
- unrealistic stories about their use of it / maintenance & repairs done
- they make sure you know the factory closed so prices are increasing / they have other interested buyers / etc.

An uninformed buyer would give stories that indicated little use themselves as well as not knowing about the RV.

I should add there are some crazy prices out there.  An admitted flipper asked $60,000 for a 1998 26.5 MB, 14,620 miles, 20 hrs on the generator, said looks like new.  Said high price as this was as close to new as you could get these days (cause looked like knew and hardly used).  Several people said he was crazy but one guy said he was interested (only takes one buyer).

I am seeing prices for $20,000 more than prices on several LDs (during height of pandemic I regularly saw prices $10,000 more than pre-pandemic prices).

I have no idea what people are really getting for them.

Hi Joan; The Caravan club number 2589 is before mine 2742, so the owners had one before this one. A new member in 2007 would have a number in the high 2900 or 3000's.  It says private owner. The price isn't unreasonable, of course at 90K miles, but well preserved inside and out. It is only 8 years newer than mine, but the sun damage is much less. Very tempting if I hadn't just put $5000 in BlueBelle. And I wouldn't have to drive it thousands of miles to get it here. The last MB I bought was in Ventura.  RonB

The 2016 Caravan Club roster doesn't show 2589, the rig has not been to a Caravan for a long time.

Denmark flag?
The flag is Germany 🇩🇪, not Denmark 🇩🇰

The Nevada plates are a bit of a head scratcher, given it’s being sold in California.   Did a quick search on those Nevada plates, they are original to the vehicle from 16 years ago, suggesting one owner prior to its arrival in California.

Oh well!  Close anyway. And the plates on it are Nevada, so the owners may still have been members but not attendees.    RonB

A  Boondocker special with a composting toilet.
For those interested, read up on LD Diesel engines and propane generators, not to mention maintaining a composting toilet without violating environmental rules.

Hi, I'm wondering why  "The 6.0 diesel is a disaster waiting to happen."?
I've searched through some of the archives and haven't found an answer there yet.
I'd love to buy this 2005 LD MB as it's set up the way I'd like for boondocking with mega solar.
I'm looking for more data on diesel.
The big hold up is I just listed my house so don't have the funds yet.
I love this Lazy Daze group, you all are so knowledgeable and the info is invaluable!
Thanks,

I’ve watched Thomas’s upgrades on their YouTube channel, it’s an excellent boondock rig, the mini split is super efficient and quiet.   Double the solar & lithium I have on my 24’ TK.

Diesel is fine, though they tend to be more costly to service.   There are so few diesel Lazy Daze built, that advice from other owners will be sparse (on the engine side) but the rest of the rig is pure LD goodness.

Zanobia, as a first step, you might want to do a comprehensive web search on “Ford 6.0L diesel”. There appear to be many sites - videos, message boards, other - that discuss in depth the pros and cons of this engine.

As always, YMMV.

Hi Zanobia;  Regarding money to buy this rig, I'm not sure an asking price was revealed. Of course all that could be negotiable. Depending on the amount of equity in the home you have for sale, you can obtain 'swing' loans to bridge the gap between sale of one, and overlapping purchase of a replacement.  Overall the mileage is very low on this rig, considering it's a 2005.  Cloud point of diesel shouldn't have much impact. The Diesel version of the LD had an extra 17 gallon LPG tank to run the propane generator.   RonB

I don’t recall if these are the same folks who went through the required steps to “bullet proof” their 6.0 diesel, it’s been quite a while since I saw that video. The 6.0 is widely panned as being far less reliable than the 7.3 diesel until those mods are done. I have no personal experience with that — and others on here with actual mechanical skill and experience like Larry W might have more insight. At the time, Ford pivoted away from their established (or at least altered the design relationship) with International, and the results were initially not good.

I love diesel motors, don’t find the increased maintenance costs to be a significant enough difference to even mention, so I’d have very minimal reservations buying this 6.0 diesel LD — if it had been “bullet-proofed.” As long as the on-board LP was enough to serve my needs for the generator. I moved away from my love of V8’s to get the 3.0 diesel in my 1/2-ton Silverado (Chevy prices this motor less than their premium V8) and could not be happier, enjoying 30+ MPGs, caveat is that diesel in my area is typically priced like Reg gas, except over the last year or more where it’s now more $$$ than Premium gas.

Others here have mentioned that the supernaturally-reliable 7.3 diesel had low-power drivability issues when placed in the E-series chassis (lack of intercooler in this application as compared to the F-series pickups). No clue whether the 6.0 diesel was more powerful.
