Broken Acrylic Handle April 01, 2022, 05:13:45 pm One of those glass or acrylic handles on our MB closest gave way today. Fortunately I had a spare that I’ve carried for 7 years. As others have posted, those handles are solidly fixed to the mirrors. But with a heat gun and patience, it let go. That was the easy step. The adhesive took more heat, a razor blade, goof-off, and glass cleaner. We’re back in action!P.S. It’s always something Amigos!! 😜 6 Likes

Re: Broken Acrylic Handle Reply #3 – April 03, 2022, 03:16:22 pm Hi Ed; When I visited Lazy Daze in 2017, I was buying parts to repair a friends 2001 MB. While there I got two stainless steel folded 'sheet' metal handles intended to replace the acrylic handles. With careful sanding of the edges, they were a much better choice. I cut away some of the woodgrain plastic edge on the door to make the handles fit properly. They screwed into the back of the door and wrapped around to the front. They might still be available. Todd Miller might know at LD. ps. the picture makes one of the handles look lower, but they were level when I did this. The picture was taken years later and the door may need adjustment.
