The Companion October 25, 2021, 03:20:29 pm The last article posted, by someone other than me, was by Ken Fears in May of 2019.That means that either every subject has been covered or no one gives a toot about contributing.Perhaps it's outlived itself?I will be listening. 1 Likes
Re: The Companion Reply #1 – October 25, 2021, 03:46:12 pm Don,Thanks for all of the work you have done on the Companion. I have used it often. It is very useful to Lazy Daze owners. As far as making contributions are concerned, I don't feel competent to instruct another owner on a repair or modification. I'm still a beginner and the Companion is a great guide.Harold 2 Likes

Re: The Companion Reply #4 – October 26, 2021, 08:03:25 am Don, the Companion is a wonderful resource. Many people refer to it. We may not be commenting on it. But that doesn't me we don't appreciate it and your hard work. 1 Likes

Re: The Companion Reply #7 – October 26, 2021, 09:05:48 am Don, We agree with all the previous comments, and appreciate that The Companion is a reference tool, backed by technical expertise, like an encyclopedia. We wouldn’t want it to become like Pinterest, with crafty ideas, which are available all over the web.Thank you to all the experts who have contributed to this Reference Guide.Don & Tery 1 Likes

Re: The Companion Reply #9 – October 26, 2021, 10:32:32 am Over the years of having houseboats, campers, etc...i learned the hard way..which was costly....given the internet, utube and books ordered on line i have been able to practice preventive maint..ask questions before i jump in all willy nilly and mess up something. Thanks to those who have been kind and generous on this web site and others like it i have experience and confidence i can wade through most problems i encounter. What most wont tell you about first time rving is you have to do your research...read all you can about the products out there....just because its shined up like a new copper penny does not mean whats underneath will not nickel and dime you to the poor house. Also leave you beside the road at the mercy of every rip off con man for 100 miles. Example if you do not already repair things around your house then you probably should not buy an rv..boat etc. Ask yourself alot of questions....can i afford it, can i store it at home undercover or will i have to pay to store it, can i afford to insure it? How often will i use it? Would I be better off staying in a cabin at a state park...this one is often my go to after each trip of prepping, loading and unloading, washing waxing , maintaining etc....THINK.....DONT OVER PAY FOR WORN OUT RIGS ...SAVE AND RESEARCH TILL YOU CAN AFFORD IT....ALL OF IT...GOODLUCKI really appreciate all the old timers and newer folks for their input...if a persons recomendations for a repair, fix is not up to snuff....someone always jumps in to say why it should not be done that way. So dont wait till you have a problem...read the manuals ....practice the maintenance even if its not needed....learn how your coach works....Owning an rv is alot of work...if you can't do the work or dont want to do the work it takes...find a new hobby..life style. Otherwise expect to see your rig and your bank account go down fast. 1 Likes
Re: The Companion Reply #10 – October 26, 2021, 11:58:19 am I was impressed that the RV Consumer Group rates Lazy Daze as one of the safest, best-built RVs, but it was the expertise, dedication, and thoughtfulness of the contributors to The Companion and the LD Owners' Group websites that finalized my decision to look for an LD to purchase. 2 Likes
Re: The Companion Reply #11 – October 26, 2021, 03:22:37 pm How does one actually get something into the Companion? What’s the gatekeeper mechanism? Just curious. — Jon 2 Likes
Re: The Companion Reply #12 – October 26, 2021, 03:41:34 pm I love them Companion and use it in a regular basis. It is a very important resource. I may not feel comfortable contributing, having owned the LD for only 7 months, but it is where I go to learn, grow and hopefully, minimize expensive mistakes. With greatest regards,Linda 2 Likes

Alternatively, you can search any page that is indexed by google by tying the search term, followed by site:"thenameofthesite.com"For example. try Quotecoffee site:"lazydazearticles.blogspot.com"and replace coffee with any term you want to search for.But the search box should work too.Rich 1 Likes
