Tornado Seat October 02, 2021, 11:03:14 am Tornadoseat - Portable Chair, Adjustable Stool, Heavy Duty I saw this seat featured on the Sat. edition of RVTravel.com and it appears to be a very practical stool/seat for any RV. I recall always bringing out the collapsible stool for digging around the LD compartments or cleaning the wheels. Has anyone tried this stool? I'm not promoting it; just gathering information.Chris 5 Likes
Re: Tornado Seat Reply #1 – October 02, 2021, 11:40:35 am Chris, I know nothing about this product other than the information on the website and the photo and pitch on RV Travel, but although some posteriors might fit on the thing when used as a seat, using the stool as a "step" seems like a bad idea; the top is only 9.5" across! (The "Lazy Susan" turntables that are in the cupboards in my LD are the same size!) There is sure not anywhere near enough stable space in that diameter for even one of my big feet, let alone two. Also, I would not trust this thing not to collapse when sitting or standing on it, particularly for a heavier person (was there a weight limit mentioned?).YMMV, but I want more than a "pie plate" sized surface area to stand on when I'm off the ground! On edit: The website says the weight limit is 400 pounds. Hmmm.... can I sign your cast?
Re: Tornado Seat Reply #2 – October 02, 2021, 11:42:57 am Tornadoseat - Looks like a winner in utility. My current short stool is often too short, but this looks like the veritable "Goldilocks" of stools to have around. Anxious to hear if anyone has any experience with them.Joan makes good points, as always! I especially hadn't thought about the collapsing aspect. Awkward! Did notice the tiny surface compared to foot size. Good idea, but maybe not as ideal in use as it seems at first blush. Virtual hugs, Judie
Re: Tornado Seat Reply #3 – October 02, 2021, 02:20:39 pm I've been using an ALPS Mountaineering Tri-Leg Stool. It's fairly comfortable and folds into a small package. As an Amazon Associate Lazy Daze Owners' Group earns from qualifying purchases.
Re: Tornado Seat Reply #4 – October 02, 2021, 04:57:17 pm "Three legged stool?"I recall my Grandpap using a one legged stool when milking the cows! It even had a strap so's you could secure it to your hips. He said a 3 legged was too awkward. Have you ever wondered about the medical term 'stool' ? 1 Likes

Re: Tornado Seat Reply #6 – October 04, 2021, 10:26:57 pm I've never used the Tornado Seat, but was recently at a meeting where several different-sized people had them. The most memorable part of the meeting was when one of the seats broke under an average-sized person and sent her sprawling. The seat couldn't be repaired and she was not the only one who elected to then sit on the floor.Dottie Tice
