Re: RV Sales Reply #1 – June 23, 2021, 10:02:21 pm Camped at Grand Canyon a few days ago, the fellow next to us (in a SOB), asked what our leveling blocks were for. He had a number of new-in-box items (in various stages of assembly), and was clearly new to the game. The fellow’s kids were excitedly playing and asking for his attention. We went to bed early, anticipating an early trip home via the Mojave desert, only to awake to screams from the kids at having encountered a few cow elk - dad said something to the effect of “that’s nice”, rather than stay back. When we arose at o’ dark-thirty, we noticed that he still had boxes and parts scattered about the site, and a tent pitched in a scrunched-up fashion on a four foot square patch of dirt between his motorhome and the road. I wasn’t sure whether to feel sorry for him or encourage him. I am certain that he has a few tuff lessons to learn.- W 9 Likes

Perhaps Thor, the king RV, should provide more on-site learning sessions at NPs and other campground to help these people. The more prepared these RVers are the more likely they upgrade in the future. Seems like an opportunity to me.Ron

Scary how little the pandemic RV buyers don’t research day to day use/maintenance of an RV. When I rented, I read extensively, including keeping it level for the fridge. Did I level it out beyond simple eyeballing? No, but I didn’t care because I was renting 1 Likes
Re: RV Sales Reply #5 – June 24, 2021, 03:03:47 pm A couple of years ago while servicing the LD’s waste system, a “Rental” couple were trying to figure out the Fresh/Black water fill procedure.Greeting them, I noticed that the gentleman was about to fill their fresh water tank at the black water station. I quickly cautioned him about the cleanliness of the water. Thank goodness he never started the process. Pulling forward to the potable water, he noticed that he had no fresh water hose and neither the dump nor the rental company provided one. I then gave him my spare white hose and said “keep it you’re going to need it”. There’s a first time for everything. Sometimes it’ll be the last. 😖Kent 2 Likes
