2001 30 IB weight May 11, 2021, 03:55:05 pm Hi there,I'm trying to find out the weight limit of the 2001 30 IB model. It looks like its 14,050, but how much does the lazy daze weigh? trying to figure out how much I can carry in the van.I'm looking into buying one and the dealer said it can hold over a thousand, but I doubt it very much. I want to add solar and want to make sure we don't go over the weight limit.Thank you!

Re: 2001 30 IB weight Reply #3 – May 12, 2021, 07:01:23 pm I had the same question with my 2013 31 IB. I drove it home, filled the propane and gas tanks and had it weighed. It came in at 12,800. All water tanks were dry. 1 Likes
Re: 2001 30 IB weight Reply #4 – May 12, 2021, 09:47:19 pm Thanks all, I found an old brochure on this very site and its 12683 with tanks, propane filled up. I have a week to figure out if I want to buy it or not. I would like to full time in it for about a year, but thinking that we might not have enough weight for our stuff. I want to tow a car (civic that weights ~2600). 1 Likes

The max tow weight as I understand is about 4000lb I think. I have heard of others putting items in the toad (but not exceeding max tow weight or max carrying weight of the toad) to help offset the CCC of the LD. Hope that helps - Sara 1 Likes

No problems over all that time, hardly knew it was there!However... no disrespect to you, but a Lazy Daze, aka: motor home, cannot and should not be referred to as a "camper"! A camper is what you find on the bed of a pick-up truck, owned by people who either cannot afford better or like living in a box. Terminology matters!

Re: 2001 30 IB weight Reply #8 – May 13, 2021, 12:42:38 pm In my experience, while the the term "camper" is most often used to designate a unit that is either mounted in the bed of a pickup truck (or on a flat bed) in the western U.S., "camper" is a more generic term in the midwest and eastern U.S.. I've heard the term used to describe everything from van "campers" to class C "campers" to travel trailer "campers" to 5th wheel "campers". There are quite a few differences in regional terminology usages; as long as we all understand what each other means, it's OK!Now, I need to red up the rig! 2 Likes

"Now, I need to red up the rig!"'Red up', eh? You are showing your midwestern heritage, Joan. Red up (or ret up), which comes from middle English 'redden' means to clean or tidy up. Being a Hoosier, I used to hear my mother say that all the time.Chris 3 Likes
