Spare tire on new LD
I've noticed the spare on the 27 mid-bath is stored in the side compartment rather than the back compartment as they used to be.

I was wondering if there is room underneath the rig to fabricate a spare mount and free up that storage space?

Hi Ted;  I'd say if I could, but when you get your MB, let me take a look. The underneath got moved around a bit after 2001, so I don't know what the prospects are.   Meanwhile look around for other brands and see if any built on the E450 new chassis (or old) store the spare underneath.  Hoists are available that can lift and store the spare, and pickup trucks have been doing it for years.
