Re: Exterior caulking on cracked trim and factory trim joints Reply #2 – December 17, 2020, 12:36:19 pm Resealing loose end caps is an involved process that requires clearing away any damaged sealant, masking around the caps to preserve a clean look. Many caps need to have stainless steel screws added to pull the caps into position.Unfortunately, the sealant does not hold paint well but with a rig your old, preserving the seals, and the wood framing under the aluminum skin, is more important than cosmetics. With proper masking, the white sealant will be a thin line.Window and seam sealing | FlickrWith a rig of your vintage, the perimeter of the window frames should be resealed too. Almost all leaks are the result of leaking end caps or windows, both need to be addressed. The window in the rear wall is particularly prone to leakage, both around the perimeter of the frame and around the rubber molding securing the window panes.Lots of information in the Companion and in the archives of the forum, use the search function..Happy travels.Larry 1 Likes
