cleaning water pump filter
Hello everyone
We are wanting to clean the filter of our water pump. We have followed the directions in the manual... but cannot get the filter cup loose from the housing. It is really stuck! Any suggestions? We have tried our rubber, a large channel lock wrench, sprayed it with vinegar... even though no signs of corrosion.

It certainly shouldn’t be that tight.   I’d first rotate the filter housing up as suggested in our LD manual.  Then twist counter clockwise.  It’s suppose to be snug but not anywhere near as tight as you described.   Hope you can remove it.

"We are wanting to clean the filter of our water pump."

Do you have a reason to think this is necessary?

I have had 4 water pumps (original + 3) over a span of 16 years. On every exchange I have checked and have never seen the need to clean or replace the filter. You may wind up with a bit of egg on your face when all is over!   ::)    ;)

What were your reasons for replacing the pump?

Didn't have a heat gun but tried a hair dryer. It worked! Thanks!
