Name plate by door 5 years ago Can anyone tell me if the LD manufacturer will still make new name plates? We had one made for us a few years back and we want to keep that now that we are selling our 2004 24ft TK.

The cost was about $55 plus shipping.

Re: Name plate by door Reply #5 β 5 years ago Yes, it is just if you want your own name on a rig that you purchase from someone else. I just wasn't sure if they are still making replacements. We will check with the factory.
Re: Name plate by door Reply #6 β 5 years ago Hello All, We just placed an order Wed. (10/14) with Lazy Daze including a new name plate and were told they are currently in stock.
Re: Name plate by door Reply #8 β 5 years ago Quote from: HiLola - 5 years agoHow are they attached? They are held with 4 screws and probably some kind of adhesive. Guessing on the adhesive π. You know LDβs construction is always glued, screwed, and/or stapled. Hardly anything comes off easily. 4 Likes Liked by: joel wiley, dollinsdale, debinvenice, Franram
Re: Name plate by door Reply #9 β 5 years ago There was some discussion many moons ago about theseSecurity is a potential issue. Picture this - someone knocks on your door that you don't know and addresses you by last name ("Hello Mr/Mrs Smith, how are you?") You let your guard down, thinking they must know your or have been sent to talk to you by the campground.Turns out they read your name off your coach nameplate. But now you aren't thinking about that. You are thinking about your new friend (who isn't your friend at all).Much better to figure a catchy phrase "Made for Many Sunsets", or some such thing than to actually have your real name on the coach. 3 Likes Liked by: Lazy Bones, OpheliaElaineLD2005, O2boutside

Re: Name plate by door Reply #11 β 5 years ago When I ordered my 2016 I told Todd to leave the name plate blank and put it in the glove box which he did. The new owner now has it so it's his call at this point. Maybe it will stay in the glove box until the third owner takes over! Frank 1 Likes Liked by: HiLola

You are thinking about your new friend (who isn't your friend at all). Our LD has the name of someone different, just for this reason. It was a spare plate that was left over from someone with a used rig who had a new one made at the Motherhsip. The plates are just screwed on. LD can engrave a new plate. Buyers of used rigs can have new plates made up with either their name or another tag, "Happy Camper " for example. Larry
Re: Name plate by door Reply #14 β 5 years ago The original owners nameplate remains on our coach. Ordering a LD was on his bucket list. The gentleman ordered it in his 80's, picked it up and drove home to Washington state. It was ordered with the colors inside and out as we would have ordered. The only option we wished we had is heated rear view mirrors. The paint is peeling on the plate, and may be addressed someday. For now, it reminds us that bucket lists and dreams are very important. Sadly it's 34 degrees this morning in Minnesota, yesterday our TK went into winter storage. Maybe a new nameplate would reflect our forum sign on "Vikings". 2 Likes Liked by: Lazy Bones, WhiteElk
Re: Name plate by door Reply #15 β 5 years ago I still have the previous owners plate, it says Janowski. (I think I spelled it right).

Re: Name plate by door Reply #17 β 5 years ago Our name plate doesnβt have my parents names rather it has the name of our LD imprinted upon it. ππ 2 Likes Liked by: Lazy Bones, O2boutside

Wow I didn't know this! Going to give them a call. Old plate should be pretty easy to remove since its just 4 screws I assume?
Re: Name plate by door Reply #19 β 5 years ago <smile> nobody I know calls me by my last name or Mr/Mrs whatever. I'll just look out the window - If I or my wife don't know them then we'll just ignore them. We do that at home - no reason not to do that on the road. glen 1 Likes Liked by: O2boutside
