From 2019...."Chuck Carvitto, died 05/04/2018. He had no children and his wife Sue died before him. He had closed his shop in Ridgecrest, CA, a few years ago and was selling custom valve stems by mail order. I don't think there was anyone to take over the tire stem business."Charles
Re: Re: Tire Man still in business Reply #2 – July 21, 2020, 01:25:42 pm Chuck mailed me a set of extenders back in Oct 2017 for my newly purchased MB. He REALLY stressed the importance of having the extenders installed correctly. He actually kept a listing of places across the country that had installed his extenders. The closest place to me was a tire place near Cleveland, OH - 4 hours. Having read on this forum some of the challenges involved in using "just any old place", I'm still waiting to make the trip. I don't know what was the cause of Chuck's death, but when I talked to him back then he was really looking forward to an upcoming fishing trip.
Re: Re: Tire Man still in business Reply #3 – July 21, 2020, 03:07:36 pm I too talked to Chuck in 2017; in June after we purchased our Twin King. He later called me to let me know he had just shipped the stems and to make sure I took his instructions to the shop to have them installed.
