Dare I ask? June 08, 2020, 06:04:47 pm What would the sales tax, license, and registration cost for a new 27 foot MB here in California?😯
Re: Dare I ask? Reply #1 – June 08, 2020, 06:42:26 pm You can get an idea of registration fees from this link. Fees for "motorhomes" apparently are calculated the same as cars and passenger trucks.https://www.dmv.ca.gov/wasapp/FeeCalculatorWeb/newVehicleForm.do 1 Likes
Re: Dare I ask? Reply #2 – June 08, 2020, 07:04:01 pm I typically use the figure of 10% of the purchase price of the vehicle and it is pretty close. Easy to calculate as well.Harold 2 Likes
Re: Dare I ask? Reply #3 – June 09, 2020, 12:49:45 am Every county in California has a different sales tax rate so it depends. You may want to call the Mothership for an estimate.
Re: Dare I ask? Reply #4 – June 10, 2020, 03:33:02 pm If you plan to register the coach in Encinitas (your profile home city), the sales tax rate would be 7.75%. If you plan to take out of state delivery but still pay California sales tax, you would pay the Montclair sales tax rate of 8%. We did this because while we were Wyoming residents at the time, we wanted to tour California for a while upon delivery.

Re: Dare I ask? Reply #7 – June 14, 2020, 09:01:50 pm Our first annual registration renewal was $900 (2019 MB) - ouch!
