Stainless Steel Refrigerator Panels?
Hey everybody! First time on here. We are doing some repairs and renovations and were wondering if anyone has replaced the refrigerator panels from wood to stainless steel?

On the Dometic refrigerators I have replaced, the 'wood' panels are removable and can be exchanged.
Have a piece of stainless steel sheet metal cut to the right size to replace the wood panel.

I've been following some of your adventures on FB. I wish you much luck with your repairs. There are a lot of people here who will be able to help you if you need it (you just met one in the previous post).

Stay safe!

I replaced the door panels of my Vitrifrigo fridge with brushed stainless steel ones from OnlineMetals.com for about a hundred bucks, as I recall. I found that the .048" thickness worked well.

Who ever replaced our frig through the years replaced the panels with mirrors ( plastic ) and we really like them just kind of gives you the added room perception.

Hi all,
The previous owner had installed a Norcold in 2010 We chose to replace our fridge,  it kept giving us some odd error messages but it continued to work.  (through the window) Since our daughter-in-law works for SOB at their manufacturing plant she got us a new Dometic at near cost. The only downfall was the door panels they had available were no where close to a color match.  We used a vinyl sheet product that looks like formed aluminum. We backed it with 1/8" thick plywood.  Even put a piece on the front of the oven so it looks like I have all stainless steel appliances. It isn't magnetic but you can write on it with dry erase markers.  Hope this helps. It is thin enough to put in over existing panels. We used the plywood since we didn't have any panels for it.
Hope this helps.

I replaced the wood panels (on our current coach) with magnetic stainless steel panels from quickshipmetals.com. The description is:

Magnetic Stainless Sheet, S-SS-430-030  430 Grade .030" (22 Gauge)

Total cost for two panels (refrigerator and freezer doors) on a 8-cubit-foot Norcold was $140.

Jane, I went over and got several pictures of our frig. Turns out that they are glass panels.

I like it! I'd do the same in my Trillium, but with this half-height fridge, all I'd see reflected would be my knobby knees.

I replaced the teak veneer panels on the doors of the Nova Cool fridge/freezer (similar door construction as the Lazy Daze fridge) with textured black plastic panels.  Take out the teak, cut the plastic to the same size using the teak as a template, and in they went. It isn't as pretty, but it doesn't require teak oil every year and doesn't show finger prints.  It was a simple job and made the Admiral happy.
