A follow up on my TPMS\vendor experience
Pulse Package + 6 Pulse Sensors - Tire Pressure Monitor

From a post I wrote this spring: "I installed the system as soon as I received it back in Feb. of this year. I installed and set it up in about an hour. I found it easy to program and set the alarm limits, etc., and it worked perfectly on my first trip with it, a 2500 mile RT to Florida in March. I appreciated having the tire pressure and temperature information at my fingertips more than I expected."

In August, the system informed me I had low pressure in my DS rear outboard tire while the rig was sitting in my driveway. Pressured it back up, and not unexpected, a few days later, the system alarmed again for the same tire. I sprayed soap bubbles where the the sensor attaches to the valve, and in the process sprayed on the sensor body too. Much to my surprise, the sensor was leaking at the joint where the sensor base and the dome of the sensor are 'pressed together'.

Mid-April, I had ordered two spare sensors. I removed the bad sensor, deleted, then added the sensor for 2LO to the base configuration, then installed one of the two replacement sensors on the tire. The base unit couldn't find the new sensor. Diagnostics showed no dB reading from the sensor. I left it on overnight just to make sure, still no joy the next morning. I got the other spare sensor out. Again deleted, then added the sensor for 2LO to the base unit, attached the sensor, and the base found it before I climbed back in the cab to check.

By email, I contacted Steve at L&S Safety Solutions where I'd gotten the system. He responded promptly and asked me to send in the two sensors for him to check out. I did so, and within a week he had sent me two replacement sensors in warranty. To be clear, I have no interest in the company, just wanted to share that I'm very pleased with the system, and the great customer service from the vendor.

BTW - I wanted to send Steve a picture of the leaking sensor, so removed the good one and installed the leaky one back on the tire. It was interesting that it didn't show a leak immediately. It took a few minutes for it to start leaking again enough to show bubbles.

Bill,
It is always good to hear about a positive interaction with a vendor.  I have a similar story with TireMinder tpms company.  I bought the system from my rv mechanic.  It was used and one of the 10 pressure monitors wasnt working properly.  When there was an RV show here in Tucson last month, I went over and talked with the folks at the TM booth.  They replaced the one malfunctioning pressure sensor without charge, even though I told them that I had bought it used.  I think that is great customer service.  They also said that they will be bringing out a different flow through sensor next year that you can fill the tire without removing the sensor.

Rich,

Tire Minder currently sells a flow through valve that mounts between the tire valve stem and the pressure monitor.

I’ve been using them for a couple of years. They work perfectly and make checking/filling air possible in hardly any time at all.

If you call TM, they’ll sell them and ship them to you. The valves come in 2-packs. They look identical to one another. The pressure monitor can be mounted on either of the flow throw stems.

They told me that they dont sell those flow through valve extenders anymore, otherwise I would have bought 6 of them.

That’s a shame. Makes me wonder why. I’ve nothing but good results with them. Everything works as it should.
