telescoping ladder July 29, 2019, 11:06:52 am Has anyone used telescoping ladders and which brands do you find durable and safe? They just seem so much easier to carry around and store. Thanks for looking.
Re: telescoping ladder Reply #2 – July 29, 2019, 12:05:36 pm I've been using an "Xtend & Climb" ladder for a few years now, and have found it both sturdy and useful. Of course, it's more important with my Airstream, which has no ladder of its own, than with a Lazy Daze. But even with an LD, there are times when you want to get at something on the upper body sides, and leaning over the edge of the roof is not a safe or comfortable way to do it. "It can, but no worse than my Lazy Daze in the same conditions. After all, they both have an aluminum roof painted white. (Older Airstreams did have silver roofs, but those got hotter than white ones, so the factory changed to white some decades ago.)

So I returned it and bought the 8.5 foot model that I linked to in my earlier post. I've been happy with that. 1 Likes

By the way, I highly recommend the silicone rubber "top rung cover" that keeps it from scratching your rig's finish, and also makes it less likely to slip. Otherwise they appear the same. AllI can say is that I have the Classic model, and it's sturdy and well-designed--for example, the built-in closure strap and padded carrying handle are nice touches, and the latches are designed to prevent pinching yourself when closing the ladder (which could otherwise be a hazard).
