Cab blanket to protect from the cold May 01, 2019, 06:07:59 pm I know it's standard practice for folks to use heavy blankets draped over the cab area hanging down from the overhead bed area.....but for those of you (me included) that have the 31' models with no overhead beds what are some of the ingenious ways folks have come up with to obtain the same outcome? Thanks,Bill

Some Class A RVers use a stout shower curtain rod and drape a blanket over the rod. That would be my strategy. Hope this helps. 2 Likes
Re: Cab blanket to protect from the cold Reply #2 – May 01, 2019, 06:18:36 pm I drape the blanket across and tuck an end into the cabinet on either side 😉 2 Likes
Re: Cab blanket to protect from the cold Reply #3 – May 01, 2019, 06:31:28 pm About what Lazy Bones 2 does, but I tuck it under the TV (which pivots up) in the middle as well. 4 Likes
Re: Cab blanket to protect from the cold Reply #4 – May 02, 2019, 01:14:26 am I have a piece of egg crate bed foam I found at an auction that goes between the driver/passenger seats & the barrel chair on one side/sofa end on the other--from the floor it nearly reaches the carpeted ledge around the entertainment center. Then like LB2 & Joel, I use a shower rod (across the carpeted ledge at the back/house side), tucking the blanket into the cabinet doors & under the TV, then draping to the floor over the curtain rod & egg crate. I also cut egg crate inserts to put behind the blinds in the lounge, kitchen, & side bedroom windows, plus a piece of foam to put behind a blanket that rolls down from the valance above the side entry door. The foam rolls up & lives in the shower during the day, blankets get stashed in the entertainment center cabinet or rolled up over the door valance, & the shower rod lives in the corner behind the driver side barrel chair. My body shop guy was throwing out some large bubblewrap (like 2" bubbles) that he'd received parts in--it fits perfectly across the back window behind that blind, & behind the bathroom blind; I also used it to make inserts for the roof vents & the shower dome (covered with cardboard & sealed with clear packing tape around the edges). I've given some thought to having a line run for a cat heater, but this has kept the rig generally comfortable, especially if I'm plugged in & can use a couple of space heaters. The bathroom window & shower dome stay up year round, as does the entry door blanket that rolls up over the valance; the rest of the winter jammies will be stored in the stix house for the summer when I bring her in from the farm next week to prep for a trek to the Texas hill country (D-I-L is graduating from A&M, & granddaughters have end-of-school programs...& I'm ready to leave our current Missouri sogginess). In the summer I put large reflective truck windshield inserts in the front/sides/back that face the sun, & shut the blinds.Lynne 3 Likes
