Snowed in and nowhere to go anyway February 17, 2019, 01:52:15 pm Science and politics often get confused and it's sometimes difficult to tell one from the other but I hope this is taken as science not politics. As I sat here watching it snow and looking at weather in places I want to go I'm finding even the ever dependable Death Valley is cold. I heard some stuff recently on scientists predicting a new little ice age period and in the throes of cabin fever started researching it. Apparently it's predicted to begin in 2019 and historically these events are sudden and extreme. A new LIA is definitely not an era I want to be in for my "golden years" but it just may be in the works. Then again cabin fever may be racking my brain into delirium. Either way this is a fascinating article on the subject if you are interested in this sort of thing. The Cycle of Global Cooling-What is Going On? | Dr. Gabriel Cousens

Re: Snowed in and nowhere to go anyway Reply #3 – February 17, 2019, 04:04:49 pm We have spent many winter vacations in Death Valley and it is normally always cold in the middle of the winter.Posting a 'scientific' article supporting global cooling is getting way too political and is not RV or LD related.Let's not continue it.Larry 2 Likes
Re: Snowed in and nowhere to go anyway Reply #4 – February 17, 2019, 06:22:28 pm Yeah my concern was it may be taken politically, you really have to walk on egg shells these days. On DV though I was going by averages. It's definitely below average now but things are looking up towards March and I may get out of here yet. On that note I'll move on and quit whining. We just took a beautiful snowshoe and returned to our cozy wood heated home to look out the windows into the beautiful winter scene with a glass of wine so all in all can't complain.Death Valley CA Average Temperatures by Month - Current Results

Yes you do.
