Re: Amazing Video - RV Backs into the Lake Reply #2 – January 14, 2019, 12:42:27 am A Dalmatian, we have had a couple of those - too smart for their own good.We had one that locked me out of the car (with both Dalmatians inside the car) in the summer (about 85 outside).I threw the keys on the driver seat and shut that door as I reached to open the back door so I could buckle in our boy Dalmatian. The girl Dalmatian jumped from the front passenger seat onto the drivers seat and stepped on the key fob locking the door. I tried to get her to unlock it - by stepping on the key fob again. Being very smart she did that repeatedly, but just kept re-locking the door instead of unlocking it. No fingers, just paws, so her aim was not very precise, but she enthusiastically jumped on the key fob repeatedly for me.Luckily a fire truck was across the street waiting for something and I flagged them down and they opened up the car door. I figured fireman would want to help out Dalmatians, their traditional mascot. I learned, don't let those keys out of your hand/pocket when shutting the doors, even for a second. 2 Likes
Re: Amazing Video - RV Backs into the Lake Reply #3 – January 14, 2019, 01:31:13 am Oh...dear...I've learned not to close my door...& to keep my key in hand/pocket: the 4-Legged Alarm is restrained in her co-pilot's seat, but she can stand on the door ledge or armrest & has managed to lock the door to the minivan before I get to her side to get her leash/let her out more than a few times.Thx, Ed, for the finds you share--Lynne

Lydia Drake wrote the instructions to her "Power Door Lock and Window Interrupt" fix to prevent the dog(s) from inadvertently locking the door by stepping on the lock post; she posted it to Terry Tanner's Techsnoz site. It doesn't look like this site is maintained or updated any longer, but one could check and see if Terry responds to a request to subscribe.
