My Little LD History November 14, 2018, 06:16:04 pm Chris Horst suggested I post this reply to his question to the whole group. So here it goes. We've owned two LDs. The first one was a 17' in '72 (Bought from Ed &> Paul). It had a "wet bath and PortiPotti) The second a 2000 26' diesel (7.3 PowerStroke) MB that Ed sold us> (The wait time was only 6 mos in those days). We traded the MB in 2012 and> moved to an SOB (33' Bounder Class A w/ 3 TVs and a fireplace). We were doing work for Good Sam> Rallies and thought we needed more room. Like most SOBs the Bounder had> lots of quality issues (returned to the factory 4 times to correct issues). Had that for 2 1/2 yrs and got rid of it (Too> big and too many problems). Since we started our RVing life in VW> microbusses (2 that I converted and a '76 Westphalia conversion) we decided to go to a Class B by Winnebago (2015). The> Mercedes Sprinter was a great vehicle but again, the workmanship of the> Winnie conversion was poor. So... After three years we just recently sold> the Winnebago ERA and found a used LD that Todd at the Mothership put us> on to. Its one of the three '09 32' Kodiak LDs that Steve built for> full-timing. It's an Island bed model and will be perfect for a couple of> years of continuing our rambling around this great country. It is> low-mileage and has been stored indoors so is in great shape. We'll tow a> 2014 Honda CRV. After 7 RVs and 2 sailboats we're moving back to a Lazy Daze> (Should have stayed there). > That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Ron(terrasailor2000) 8 Likes

Re: My Little LD History Reply #3 – November 15, 2018, 12:11:04 am That looks like the one I saw at Ashville Bear Creek RV in Ashville, NC around June 2014.Was suitably impressed. It and the fireflies were the things that I remember from then.Thanx for the pics Kent.
Re: My Little LD History Reply #4 – November 17, 2018, 09:05:41 am I gotta say, that Kodiak is a nice rig. A Duramax Diesel would be a plus.
Re: My Little LD History Reply #5 – November 17, 2018, 04:46:28 pm I agree about the Duramax diesel. It would have been my preference but it seems the Mothership has an aversion to diesels plus the initial cost would be an issue. Ron
