Gross Weight Definitions October 25, 2018, 01:33:02 pm Hi, my wife and I are serious enough about a 2002 27 MB LD that we are applying for a loan. I can't seem to find the weight, and the seller didn't have the information handy. Does anyone know this number?

The maximum weight the vehicle can weigh (this includes the vehicle itself, fluids, passenger and cargo). This is what the drivetrain, brakes, suspension, etc were designed to safely carry.GCWR - Gross Combined Weight Rating. This is the total that the vehicle plus any towed vehicle together can weigh. Note that the installed hitch may limit the towed vehicle weight below this value. Also this usually assumes auxiliary braking on the towed vehicle.GAWR - Gross Axle Weight Rating. This is the maximum weight an axle can carry. For LDs, there will be one rating for the front axle and another for the rear axle. Note that a rig can be loaded UNDER the GVWR and still be OVER a GAWR, depending on the load distribution.UVW - Unladen Vehicle Weight. This is the weight as built by the factoryOCCC - Occupant and Cargo Carrying Capacity. This is the weight carrying capacity for people and "stuff" above the base vehicle with full fluids, water and propane.Hope this helps,Art 3 Likes
