Winterizing Tip
I saved a winterizing tip from another member to use when I blew out my water lines while winterizing, and I used it today. The tip was to screw off the aerators on the kitchen and lavatory faucets before blowing the lines, thus allowing any crud build up to exit without clogging up the aerators. My two aerators were so full of little pieces of calcium that I was surprised they functioned at all. Surely by spring they would have ossified and blocked water flow. The rest of the tip was to put them on loosely after cleaning them and then take them off again in the spring when firing up the water lines and then reattach them. I soaked the aerators in vinegar to clean them.
