Water invasion through roof-mounted antenna base plate?
This is a niggly question.

Our 2011 27’ MB has a Winegard Rayzar Air antenna.  While removing the antennae and repurposing the mast for a WeBoost cell signal booster, I noticed that the boot that protects the coaxial cable penetration from water invasion as it passes through the base plate/roof, does not fit so snuggly as to convince me that there is no chance of water invasion.

Considering that the boot is meant to move up and down the cable to facilitate servicing, what sort of sealant would be appropriate to ensure that there is no potential for water invasion?

Also, I would be interested to know if anyone has had a problem with water invasion through an antennae base plate.

Thanks,

Jim
