Once Again - Trouble with City Water August 11, 2018, 04:24:00 pm I found this disturbing story on another Forum and thought it might be of interest to those who haven't seen or heard it.72 cases of waterborne illness linked to Zumbrota, Minnesota campground -...As most know, a good many LDO's are very careful about connecting to city water. And so it goes. 1 Likes

Re: Once Again - Trouble with City Water Reply #2 – August 11, 2018, 06:54:05 pm Cryptosporidiosis, otherwise known as Beaver Fever, is a waterborne pathogen carried in the fecal matter of animals. Cross country hikers who drink untreated water are susceptible. The sick-Os in that campground should stay away from the pond!

Re: Once Again - Trouble with City Water Reply #4 – August 12, 2018, 04:58:59 pm HI Steve,Here in the Sierra, we know giardia as Beaver Fever and it's common in all water throughout the mountains. Don't drink directly from a stream, pond, etc. no matter how crystal clear is appears. Cryptosporidium can also be present in city water systems. It might be wise to ask 'where' the water comes from - city water, private well, etc. Happy trails,JuliWMinden, NV'06 26.5 RB

Re: Once Again - Trouble with City Water Reply #6 – August 12, 2018, 06:41:25 pm JuliWBeen spending every available moment in the Sierra (east & west) since 1958. Hardly a stream I haven't drank from, at least in the early years. Today there is only one spring from which I will drink without treatment. No matter what you call it, it's all BAD!Cryptosporidium and Giardia | HealthEd
