Toad Hit By Train June 14, 2018, 06:57:49 am What could happen if you don't get your toad off the train trackshttps://www.facebook.com/100004602499375/videos/1048188542011219/

Re: Toad Hit By Train Reply #2 – June 14, 2018, 09:06:09 am <sigh> I agree. I got to beleive that in this world there are more kind and considerate folks then fools and idiots. Maybe there wasn't anything the RV person could of done but at least they deserved a warning or help of some sort. 2 Likes

Re: Toad Hit By Train Reply #4 – June 14, 2018, 04:45:19 pm Uh, I could hear the crossing bells and the train horn on the video, so I suspect the driver of the RV did as well. He just seems to have froze, hoping against hope that the traffic would move forward instead of him trying to back up and risk getting the rig caught on the track if the toad jackknifed or something. The comments of the videographer might have been uncharitable, but I doubt there’s anything he could realistically have done. — Jon

People tend to forget what's behind them in situations like this and an aware driver never would have crossed the tracks until he knew what was being towed could get across too. I drove truck for a short while in my long life and part of my CDL training was this exact scenario.

I was going to like this post, Steve, but then realized that I am on Facebook. Who was it years ago that referred to television as a vast wasteland? I think Facebook is the new television, at times. 1 Likes

Re: Toad Hit By Train Reply #9 – June 16, 2018, 11:03:33 am It is sad to see people find entertainment in the misfortune of others. This has likely always happened, but social media makes it more visible. The motorhome sure goofed trying to pull forward in line, leaving the toad on the tracks.A motorcycle strategy has an acronym "SIPDE".Search, Interpret, Predict, Decide, Execute.Works for RVING as well. 2 Likes
