Shining her up! June 11, 2018, 08:01:50 pm This lazy daze had some serious oxidation/fading around the lower half of the rig, a little meguires oxidation remover and I swear the RV looks 10 years newer! 6 Likes
Re: Shining her up! Reply #1 – June 11, 2018, 10:16:50 pm Yeah it’s amazing how well the paint comes back. Your LD looks really nice! My 2002 shines up really nice too. I found the compartment doors seem to oxidize the fastest. I used a clay bar on them and now they match the body paint perfect.

I was happy with the results but after seeing yours I think I'll buy some meguires and see if I can get it even better. The rear end of mine has the most sun damage and maybe this stuff will bring it back to life

The rear end of mine has the most sun damage and maybe this stuff will bring it back to life"----I tried Meguiar's "oxydation remover" on a couple rear sun-faded panels of my green 2003; it did remove some oxidation, but was very difficult to wipe off. It streaked, looked "patchy", and did nothing to restore the finish. Power-buffing might produce a better result?YMMV, of course. 1 Likes

Reply #6 – June 12, 2018, 10:25:29 pm While I’m usually pretty skeptical of these snake oil “oxidation/scratch” removers I must say the results with the blue bottle meguires RV oxidation remover is nothing short of incredible. The panels on my RV where literally faded to a dull matte finish and they now match the gloss on the AL side paneling. I do warn that this stuff seems fairly aggressive as I achieved these results with no more than an applicator pad and a dry towel, wipe it on real good and then it wipes off extraordinarily easy and Boom the paint is transformed. I would avoid using a powered buffing implement as my results came so quickly by hand, I would guess you would swirl the finish and put some serious hieroglyphs in your paint with a buffer. 2 Likes
