Front upper marker light lenses April 29, 2018, 09:53:16 am I have a couple of broken amber upper marker light lenses on my 1992 MB. I say mine, it has been sold but I'm trying to fix a few things before the new owner picks it up in a few weeks. I have not been able to find replacement lenses and I don't want to do a full replacement on the lights as the seal is still good on them and they work fine.Any suggestions as to where I can find some new lenses?

Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #4 – April 30, 2018, 04:09:24 am Todd Miller told me last July (2017) that Petersen had stopped making them. Also Lazy Daze had bought all of the ones that Petersen had left in stock. I bought 5 of each color at LD for $6.50 each. I tried buying some more last month at a place in Ramona, and cleaned out their stock. They couldn't fill most of my order and are looking for more, but I suspect they will just refund the remainder of my payment. They were just $1.34 each. They may still be stock at other vendors. I don't know how many LD still has. RonB 1 Likes

Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #6 – May 15, 2018, 10:44:05 am this is where i bought mine, about $1.30 each. Peterson Replacement Parts – FoxTail Lightsi actually bought the 100-15 and they fit my mounts, not sure what the diff is vs the 102 (they have both). 2 Likes
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #7 – May 15, 2018, 10:56:35 am The correct part number is the 100-15. The 102-15 were too large. I ordered them and they are installed. She leaves with the new owners on Saturday, it will be kind of hard to see it drive away :-) Lots of good memories.
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #8 – May 15, 2018, 11:02:31 am "The correct part number is the 100-15. Unfortunately, I just did that check when I read mcnugget's post! Very sorry about the listing of 102-15A as the correct part number for the replacement lenses for the round running lights; it is indeed 100-15A, not 102-15A !
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #9 – May 15, 2018, 11:18:44 am Hi Joan and others. Todd at LD may be right that Petersen has stopped making the lights/lens caps, but there are a lot of them available through various distributors existing inventory. I just received 100 of each, red and amber from FindItParts.com . It came out to about $1.37 each. Each part was individually wrapped in Petersen bags. Sorry I didn't notice the 102 part. (I accidentally bought some of those a year or so ago). The 102 is 3" diameter, Lazy Daze uses the 100-15 part number, sometimes called a 2 - 1/2" cover. I figure I have enough to last me, and a few friends for the life of my motorhome. RonB 1 Likes

I know about this "stock up" stuff; I have about half a box (50) of Alligator V2B caps which I gift to friends! 1 Likes

I really wish I'd read this before ordering the other size on Ebay! Fortunately, I only bought 2 and not 100.
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #12 – May 16, 2018, 04:59:37 pm Hi Squeakytiki; I wasn't clear enough in my comment, I only got five of the 102 part (amber), 3" dia. But the 100 I got were the correct part 105-15. called in some places the 2 1/2' cap. I got 50 amber and 50 red. I've gone through at least 25 amber caps in the years since Bluebelle was new. The front sits in the sunlight most of the day, here in my driveway in San Diego. That sunlight is brutal. Looking through your posts, I too was born and raised in Long Beach, near Douglas Aircraft, now Boeing. RonB 1 Likes

I sure hope that number of 105-15 you just typed is a typo or I've just bought the wrong size again, because I bought the 100-15. Raised in Long Beach, was supposed to be born here too but I decided to come a little early and ended up being born in Anaheim because Mom went to Disney that day lol. I've been told that I'm lucky I wasn't born in the back seat of a Buick. 90815 represent! 2 Likes
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #14 – May 16, 2018, 06:39:19 pm The Peterson lens number is 100-15A (amber) or R (red); typos are easy to make! 😜 1 Likes
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #15 – May 16, 2018, 07:08:03 pm Running lights aside for a second...+1 for Long Beach born and bred. Very popular expat city. Even my dear ol’ Gram’s parents who lived in Globe, Az drove out here in the 20’s to birth her in Long Beach. Better weather and less heat than Globe in August. So back to lights. Guess I’ve got one more thing to add to my back up list. And so it goes.Kent 2 Likes
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #16 – May 16, 2018, 11:11:15 pm Hello I just purchased these Bargman Amber running lights, as I noticed that is what the previous owner used. I like the look of these, as they seem to look more original to me. However, these are not easy to put on ,and can crack easily. I used a heat gun to flex it a bit and it finally went on. Just thought I would share, and good luck. 2 Likes
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #17 – May 17, 2018, 03:53:53 am I knew I should have looked at my last post better. Yes a typo in the number. Should be 100-15. Navy made sure I relocated to San Diego. I still have lots of friends in Long Beach, and visit there often. RonB 1 Likes

Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #19 – May 20, 2018, 06:28:38 pm Thanks for this thread because, well, ya know, I love buying stuff. Picked up one each of the yellow and red as spares but more importantly, my PS rear red running light had a crack in it for years from a too close brush with a shrub, tree or some such. So, bought me a new 108-15R running lense and popped her on today. Just like new!!Life is good.Dave
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #20 – June 05, 2018, 03:41:09 pm as an FYI, i think the item that is at end of life/depleted is the whole light unit. i have found that most places have plenty of the lens covers, but both the peterson site and most places state that the complete fixture(m104r/a) is out. i did find this place that still has the reds at a reasonable price. for some reason they have a 40pc min on the amber, but not the red.most of my front buckets had cracked along with the covers, so most needed replacing anyway. 1 Likes
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #21 – August 12, 2019, 09:46:16 pm Thanks to all the contributions. I have a 1997 24TK and ordered 10 of each (100-15 A and R's.My question is on replacing the lens cover. Is heat the only way to get it to fit or based on the above only one other is having an issue with getting these to pop in.
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #22 – August 12, 2019, 11:01:47 pm "...having an issue with getting these to pop in."Searching my memory banks from years gone by I seem to recall that there is an inner ring on the outer wall of the fixture, over which the cap must be forced. It usually only took a strong hand pushing on one side while holding the other. Luck!
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #23 – August 12, 2019, 11:43:28 pm Actually heat is a no-no. A little dielectric grease spread on the ridge around the base of the lens cap, will help it snap inside the ridge of the white fixture base. I clean the extra paint (white) leftover by the mothership on the inside of the fixture, to obtain the clearance that Peterson intended. That is why older motorhomes have cracked fixtures. Those cracks can let water drip into the fixture. (Not into the body of the end caps) I've found many of the Peterson fixtures have failed connections at the plastic 'staked' rivet where the ring terminals attach to the socket. Those rivets should have remained a brass rivet to retain a 'gas tight' connection. Cost cutting! By a non engineer. RonB
Re: Front upper marker light lenses Reply #24 – August 14, 2019, 02:53:52 am Thanks for the suggestions in installing the lens. Per Vince, he stated just get them warm and they should go in, or apply lithium grease. Well, I left out in the sun for a couple of hours and they were warm enough but still needed to be forced in even with the grease. The issue is that the plastic receptacle is cracked (hairline) and doubt that they will retain their watertight integrity around the bulb. I believe since I have a South facing home that the full brunt of the sun has rotted these and wondering if anyone has replaced them since PM no longer makes the light assembly. Thanks in advance.
