Dream Realized
After 10+ years of looking and planning, we finally had the opportunity to purchase a new-to-us 2001 LD 30 TB.  An exhausting last few days, but she now sits in the driveway awaiting her spa treatment and some minor surgery.  New adventures await!

Welcome to the cult within the cult--those of us who love our 30' TBs.   ;D   ...and whoo-hoo, from your profile page I see you're  east of the Rockies (actually, NC puts you east of the Mississippi, Appalachians, & about as far from SoCal as one might get--although the member map does show a puzzling pair of amphibious LDs lurking out in the Atlantic   ??? ).

Colors, name for your baby, name for yourself beyond Chief???...exuberant excitement for another TB is generating too many questions, so I'd best just quit with "Welcome."   :D

Wow ten years! I searched 9 months for my first 1999 MB Lazy Daze and thought that was forever. Now we own a 30ft IB and know you will enjoy all the space this model offers. Happy Trails!!

Welcome to the cult.  I see by your profile you've been here since '16, so some things should already be familiar.
While visiting family in Raleigh (and Pine Knoll Shores) I found a couple of books that might be good for your LD library:
How to Read a North Carolina Beach by Orrin H, Pilkey and
Graveyard of the Atlantic : Shipwrecks of the North Carolina Coast by David Stick
Of course you may already have them  ;)

Hey there Art and Bonny,

Just curious as to what sold you on Lazy Daze?

For me, I asked my trusted Tire Specialist, after seeing an add in his office for RV tires...”What’s a good RV to get”? He mentioned his friend bought a used LD and has never had any issues. After researching LD and many SOB rv’s I was sold on Lazy Daze.

So what was your motivation for spending so much time in pursuing LD? What was the tipping point?

Just curious...

Welcome!

We, too, love our 30 footer and am so glad to have in in our group.  Ten years is a long time to search but it is so worth it.  Post some pics when you can and keep sharing your journey with us all.

Thanks all for the kind words.

Lynne - I have made changes to our profile so our names are now available, I will definitely be bending some ears when questions arise.

Actually I was sold on LD after finding and reading Andy's blog "Travels with Andy" when he still had Gertie.  Back then we were pop-up/TT campers.  We then were able to attend a NELD/SELD meet-up in Staunton, VA just to see what the adoration for LD was all about.  The folks were great during the "Open House" and the "Meet and Greet" and that help light the fire.  When I finally retired from the Navy, we began to really look hard for LD's in or near NC.  Timing, funds and being east-coasters (low availability this side of the Mississippi) were hindrances. In 2014 we found a 23' SOB that suited our needs and built our experiences with MHs, but after a long trip out west in 2017, we wanted something bigger.  Luck shined on us last week, Bonny found a listing in GA that looked good and was in our price range.  The rest you know.

Thanks for the suggestion(s).  Actually, we have been in NC off and on since 1984 (needs of the Navy and such).  In 1998 we were here to stay. After retirement I went into the Fire/EMS service and did a short stint with PKS Fire and EMS and am familiar with both books.

Maybe a new as-yet-unknown LD model?  We haven't officially christened her yet, but soon.  The TB layout is better than expected and is quite comfortable.

Art & Bonny--

When you changed your profile I see we're practically twins, as LDy Lulubelle is also green.  How nice you found your baby relatively nearby in GA.

I'm gaining on my brushwhacking, & hoping to get out more this summer.   With the growing number of pins east of the Rockies, perhaps there will be more paths crossed.

Though you are obviously not new, I'll again throw out my open invitation for boondocking out at the farm, whether just passing through north Missouri, or if you want a base to explore from (about 100 miles from Kansas City/75 from St. Joe/25 miles from the JC Penney & Jenny Doan Missouri Star Quilting mecca in Hamilton/+ various Mormon, General Pershing, Calamity Jane, & Walt Disney sites.

Congratulations, Art and Bonny!  Love to hear stories about people who persevere in their dreams.  Marie and I got our's last year in June.  It was our first RV and we are so grateful it is an LD!  We are retired and between June 2017 and today, we just logged 10,000 miles  8)  This week we're camping at Sebastian Inlet State Park on the east coast of Florida, south of Melbourne.  NC is a beautiful State.  I lived in Durham and Cary for 8 years in the 90s and have a brother in Chapel Hill and one in Cary.  Love it.  We hope you have many, many, care-free miles.
