Setting out on my own
🚐 At approximately 9am tomorrow  I’ll be pulling away from the curb and wave goodbye to Lazy Bones. That’s right folks Lazy Bones and Cedar are hanging out at home while I set out on an adventure of my own. My friend and I are hitting the road towards Oregon. We will stay one night in Redding and then the next week at The Valley of the Rogue State Park before heading home.

From what I can tell now......weather will be good but cold and I-5 is clear and open for travel. 🚐

Really excited,
Lazy Bones 2 😁

Safe and happy trails to you! I can't wait to hear about your adventure. Our daughter traveled over 15,000 miles with us in Ladybug and we find her staring longingly at Skylark. Sorry , Andy, but you know this is inevitable :). We'll be heading back to Arizona in a month or so  This time our Jersey home will be for sale and Skylark will be our home.

Should we be concerned when questions pop up like "Mom and Dad, wouldn't it be fun if you could park in our yard?" Followed by "Wouldn't it be nice if you could stay in our house occasionally and we could borrow Skylark?"

Sooooo, we can't wait to hear how this works out.
Keep us posted, Lazy Bones 2.

Karen, regretting that we couldn't get out of here before the deep freeze hits us today.

Great - Have a wonderful trip.

One tip - Oregon requires you to carry chains during the winter.   Even if you never have to or plan to use them.

Checking in 🚐

Trip up to Mountain Gate RV Park , Redding Ca was smooth. Made one rest stop and one pit stop at the Olive Pit 😂. Checked in and hooked up RV all by 2:30 pm. Then set out on a walk around campground.

Somehow I've missed seeing pictures of your baby--colorwise, looks like a twin to LDy Lulubelle, but I can't quite tell, is she/he a TB or IB?

Have a wonderful time--

Today's journey was from Redding to our camp site at the Valley of the Rouge State Park in Gold Hill Or. We are nesseled in between Medford and Grants Pass. We made good time due to very light traffic. Dad (Lazy Bones) called me leadfoot but I kept it between 60-65 😁. We were picked up at 1:30 and driven to our rental car. We took off looking around Grants Pass before a stop at a Super Walmart Center to pick up supplies. When we returned we noticed another LD in the camp and went to say Hi. The nice couple Connie and John from Port Townsend Wa. They has stop by to see us when we were out. They are heading on to  Arizona and warmer weather in their LD named Sweet Pea.

Always fun to run into other LD'ers and talk with them. 😊🚐

Cynthia,

My DW and I drove up to the Applegate Lodge back in 2002. It’s located between Medford and Grants Pass. We stayed at the Lodge for a couple of nights and enjoyed the Applegate river before heading through Grants Pass on our way to Crater Lake.

We were in our car, no RV at the time, and made good time to the Lake but unfortunately there were fires in the area and were unable to even see the water in Crater Lake from the rim of the crater. The Lodge at the lake is amazing.

Hopefully, if you venture in that direction, you can get a better view than we did. One day, I would like to take a lake excursion to get a closer look at the gorgeous water.

Have fun and enjoy your adventure.

Today took us into Ashland. We walked in Lithia Park. Ate pizza at Kaleidoscopes in Medford before shopping at Harry & David. H&D had some super deals. A tub of 3 classic flavor of Moose Munch normally sells for $24.99 today it was $7.98 😳 so we picked up a case (6 tubs) 😁
Then we drove around exploring the area before heading back to camp.

Till tomorrow...

If you head back down I-5 on the way home, you might consider stopping at Red Bluff RV in Red Bluff Off Antelope Blvd (Exit 649).   That is our usual last-night stop to dump the tanks, and buff the rig.    Carlitos Mexican restaurant is just around the corner in easy walking distance and another reason we stop there.

Hi Joel,

Thanks for the camping suggestion. I’m aware of said camp ground and have stayed there in the past with Dad. Our plan is to stay at the Rolling Hills Casino and eat at their buffet 😊. You can stay in their RV Park or camp for free in the truckers lot.

On your way down there is Jackson Wellsprings hot pools just outside Ashland and if you need to camp they have camping with hookups and some dry spots also.

That's a somewhat odd price structure... 1st person included, 2nd person $15.

Given that most folks travel in pairs and most campgrounds fees are for two people this is just a bit strange, I'd say.   :o

Well folks today Suzanne and I took a drive up north to Winston Or. Why you ask? Wildlife Safari!
This place is awesome. We highly recommend it if you've never been and love animals. We arrive and started out drive through Safari adventure at 10:30 am and finished around 1pm. We ate at their cafe, walked around the grounds and head back for a second trip around the park.

We are sure you can get through the drive in shorter time but we had no deadlines and took our sweet time.

We even had a visitor because I couldn't get the window up fast enough.😂

Drove to Cave Junction Or. The caves are closed this time of year but have you been to The Big Cat Adventure. The tour was very informative and we got as close up as allowed.

The we had lunch at Taylor’s sausages. Then bought some to bring home.

We spent the day driving around looking a property’s for sale. Just some advanced dreaming. Tonight we are having a spaghetti and salad for our New Year’s Eve dinner. Our neighbor  was kind enough to start a camp fire 🔥 that we can view through the dinette window 😊

We are staying in and watching DVDs tonight.
If your going out please be safe, Happy New Years Eve!  🎉🎉🎉
